Toys for Small Pets

Keep your small pets happy with toys and more from Petco. Though they’re small, guinea pigs, ferrets, rabbits, hamsters and chinchillas all need engaging and fun accessories in their habitats. The right toys will encourage them to exercise, play, chew and entertain themselves. Even two of the same kind of pet may prefer completely different toy styles, so you should be prepared to test out different options. These are a few of the different toys you can choose for your playful critters:

  • Chew Toys. Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, mice and rats all need wooden and chew-safe toys available in their habitats. Chewing is a fun activity for our pets, but it’s also necessary for their dental health. Chew rings, blocks, and sticks keep our small pets’ teeth properly worn down. They also keep them from chewing on off-limits items within their reach.
  • Exercise wheels and exercise balls. Exercise wheels are a great option to provide exercise and enrichment inside our small pet’s cage. Be sure to select a wheel made of a material that won’t trap your critter’s tail or feet.
  • Toy tunnels and tubes. No matter your small pet’s favorite toy, you want to make sure it never crowds their habitat. They should still have plenty of space to eat, sleep, hide, burrow into their bedding, and move around. Some small pet parents set up special play areas with toys that may not usually fit within a cage. Tunnels and tubes are a great option for secure play time, extra space and fun possibilities.
