Should you splint a hairline fracture located on left rear knee for a very active 5 yr old dog?
My dog broke his toe less than a week ago. The vet wrapped his leg and gave him a splint but the splint gave him sores. Could we use a more open splint such as the Walkin’ Pet Splint instead to prevent the sores?
Hi, my dog is part poodle and matice. He is 5 yrs old, 12 pounds, and has and a left bowed leg. His paw is facing towards the left. Is there some type of brace that would benefi him? Thank you.
My 13 yr old Blue heeler started limping on her R front leg a few weeks ago. She had some swelling behind her metatarsals so I ordered a velcro wrap to give her extra support for a sprain. Although the wrap and rest has helped and the swelling is gone from that area, she is very tender with a little swelling over the medial carpal and the last couple days she has been licking at it. I still think its a sprain, but would a splint and more rest be the way to go?
accidentally broken his mid humerus bone. I took him to the vet abscess they did a X-ray which I will show below but the X-ray shows that he had a oblique fracture and the bones needed to heal back together. There’s an xray without the splint and with it. We have the puppy inside of a permanent splint to try to rejoin the bones as they heal and I am just wondering was the permanent splint the right thing to do and chances of successful reconnect? ANY ORAL SURGEONS!!!!Thank you
My English bulldog jumped and landed wrong fracturing his elbow. My vet recommending surgery but wanted to confirm if surgery is route to go, or a splint will be ok? My puppy’s is 4 months old
My 9 month American Bulldog at 90 lbs has hyagroma on both elbows. What is the best route to take? I bought a brace but he wont keep it on when Im not at home. I heard surgery is expensive and just as frustrating
Hip displaesia in dog is really improve by using Ehmer sling bandaging.?
I really need help. My puppy has accidentally broken his mid humerus bone. Hi What are the chances of my dogs broken mid humerus bones growing back correctly or at least partially together with a permanent splint only. Do bones shift back into place in younger dogs better. I cannot seem to afford the pins plate surgery anymore and I’m worried the oblique fracture may not heal with splint only. As long as he can regain access to his leg again and a great amount of strength in it then thatll be fine because I know it won’t be a perfect healing Based on X-ray any thoughts
My 9 month old pomeranian broke his ulna and radius in his left front leg december 8th. He has been through multiple splints, and i took it off yesterday. he had a few pressure sores, but my concern is how limp it is. he cannot move the wrist joint, and it’s completely limp. he can’t bend his “elbow” either, and when he walks he holds it out to the side. I’m not sure if he is used to not using it, and he’s adjusting, or if the circulation was cut off and he has a “dead leg” now. i need advice!
Spring 2021 our Lab damaged her RF ring toe. We limited her activity for a couple months. Here in 2022, we walk daily, but I've noticed the same joint swelling occasionally (proximal phalange). At this point, would it help to limit her activity again, using a "Walkin Pet Splint, large, front"? If it was originally broken, could it heal at this point? Or would this be useless aggravation for her?
