I can’t afford a vet right now, unemployed due to COVID-19. Does anyone know of free vet care in DC Metro area? My dog has severely swollen anal area. I’ve tried glandex and pumpkin purée. He poops fine now, for a while strained. 13 ur old mastiff mix, about 100lbs, still active & energetic. TY

Hi, my dog has a graze or something on his chin and I am not sure if I should be worried or not. Given that I am in Stage 4 lock down in Metro Melbourne I am hesitant to take my dog to a vet however was wondering if I should be more concerned and take him anyway.

Hello, dog ate a piece of rib meat on Friday/Saturday. Had watery diarrhea Sunday and Monday. Tuesday in am had a little and then stopped. Dog is BAR temp has remained between around 100.7. Eating a bland diet since Sunday and drinking water normally. Want to know when I should hope he poops dog has been on advita once a day since Sunday. and metro twice a day since Monday

My French Bulldog has been having bloody soft stool for over a month. I’ve taken her to see two different vet hospitals for the problem and both had prescribed metronidazole. The metro has not really helped. I’ve tried different foods and don’t really see good results unless I add rice and pumpkin. The blood is bright red and she always has a blood drip once she is finished defecating. I put her on a hydrolyzed chicken liver diet but nothing has really changed. Please help, I am completely lost.

My kittens are sick due to coccidia. I was given bactrim, but the next day one of my kittens was much worse. The vet thought it was a bad reaction to bactrim and prescribed metronidazole and we are waiting for ponazuril to be ready. The metronidazole wasn't ready until the next day and he seemed much better by then. The vet says to give the metro anyway, but I'm afraid of another bad reaction - even the probiotics I'm giving him seem to make him lethargic. should I just wait for the ponazuril?

What should I do for my 17 year old cat? For months she’s had malodorous loose stool every day, without covering it up. Sometimes she turns around and vomits after. She was seen for this but they could not pinpoint a cause. Tried B12 and Metro but she won’t take it. I gave up because I seemed more concerned than the vet. The litter box dilemma is causing problems with my partner since it disrupts something almost every day. I’ve scooped it without fail at 4am for months and I’m at my wit’s end.

My cat is 54 days pregnant. I was wondering how many more days till the babies come. I also noticed A LOT of movement in her belly yesterday so is this a sign of a lot of kittens? I also am adding a picture from yesterday where you can see her belly so hopefully you can give me an idea of how many there might be. This is her first litter so I'm not sure. Lastly, when is she going to start making milk? I haven't noticed anything on her nipples. Thank you!

My cat is 7 & is heavy (15# instead of 12/13). The last few months, he's been urinating in the hallway off & on, & he was vomiting occasionally. His vet ran bloodwork (not sure what tests), said everything looked normal. They couldn't get urine. We tried Clavamox, thought may allergy, so switching food to Instinct. I've been cleaning his litter box more, especially since his poop smells foul the last couple days. There's 1 other cat in the house & 3 litter boxes (1 ea floor). What else can I do?

My 1 year old German Sheperd, named Artù, has a lump on his lower lip, I’ve attached a photo, I went to the vet to see what it could be, hoping it’s nothing malignant. He took a sample of the lump in order to make a cytologic exam. And in the meantime he gave him an ointment to put on the lump twice a day. I am waiting for the results, but what could it be? Can it be malignant? He is so young and full of energy and the lump does not give him any pain. Thank you

Yesterday a dog attacked my dog. We were able to separate them on time and my dog did not sustain and flesh injuries. Well today he’s bleeding a little from his pee hole. What do you think are the causes of it?

I’ve taken my dogs collars. She wears a leather collar with her tags and a Seresto collar. Is there anything else I can do to heal her neck? Her skin/fur is turning brownish red and there are scabs and red bumps on her neck. Should I buy a different collar that isn’t leather? Should I have her treated a different way for fleas and ticks, instead of the Seresto collar?
