Is it true that if a dog licks your wounds it can heal you faster?

My red healer was diagnosed with a slipped disc in her neck. The vet prescribed 3 weeks of prednisone. The vet explained this will eventually dissolve the disc which will help dogs condition. This just doesn't make sense to how without the disc I would think the vertebraes then would pinch the nerves.

He is having this kind a marks and wounds somewhere in the body like on legs and abdomen etc etc kindly see the photos and what is it exactly ?? What's its treatment and permanent cure ?

So I find that a massage with a pain relief cream really calms my puppy down and she falls straight to sleep during and after the massage (a helpful tip for anyone in the same shoes as I).
