Is this soil good for my baby corn snake? If not what would be best for her?

  1. You can also look into just the Aspen snake bedding for a corn snake, if it's a baby that may be easier for the first several months until you get her established.

can a tri color hognose live in this?

  1. I mix with a chip for my ball python. IMO don’t use a single substrate, mix it up.

Is this good for blue belly lizards aka western fence lizards

    Is this suitable for slugs?

    1. I put it on slugs to feed my box turtle. There's never been a problem for us.

Will this cover the bottom of my 10 gallon tank?

    1. More than enough for 10g

this soil has very small splinters

Splinters - this soil has very small splinters, like a dust or hair sized. The first day I used it I noticed it but at first I brushed it off thinking it was maybe a one time thing. But noticed it again later. I was afraid to keep using it because of that. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or something I've used it in the past before over two years ago and didn't notice it at that time.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Reptisoil is a great product! That's all I use for my snake's substrate. It's always clean & smells great & I've never found foreign objects in it. I get it from Petco because of the great prices & fast shipping!

Bought this soil about 2 weeks ago and it was basically just like any other soil. I settled it on my terrarium and misted it. At first it kind of has an earthy rain smell to it. While i was settling the soil in I had SO many splinters on my hand. There were zero warnings about this. Its also terrible with absorbing water, it doesn’t even absorb water at all! When i tried watering my plants, the water just stayed on top of the soil. I tried to use my hand to mix it in, but the soil just hardened and became compact. Terrible. Days later I started digging through the dirt to place a plant i got. A foul smell started coming from the soil. It smelled like rotten eggs/sulfur, this is probably from my high humidity environment. The bag says it’s for tropical habitats, but i don’t reccomend that. Your soil will smell HORRIBLE. I do not reccomend this product.

Not good with water and so many splinters

When I first got this bag of soil it seemed normal at first, so I settled it into my terrarium. I got so many splinters from this and the splinters were almost invisible and I couldn’t pull them out. I tried watering the soil a bit but that was a terrible mistake. When the soil comes intact with water it hardens and acts like oil seperating from the other dry soil. It’s not good at holding humidity, i do not recommend for using in high humidity environments. Also, the soil had many little mites crawling inside, and they infested my house, to top it all off it smells terribly.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Tiny splinters in the soil when I spread it around the tank. I pulled out 5 or six from my hands, which were bright red afterwards. I also got some mystery sprouts growing in this soil.
