I bought this hoping it would help with the night for my baby dragon…well it doesn’t work at all…I turn off her lights and turn it on and the temp drops bad…I even bought the correct holder for it and 3 days in still not working at all… I will be returning both tomorrow!

The ones I got don't admit as much heat as the 100 Watt heat bulbs that admit light for the day time. I ordered one for my bearded dragon and one for Dubia roaches I use as feeders. I'd recommend this heat bulb if you have a warm room but my room's temperature changes a lot. Other than that it's a great bulb so far.

I have finches in an unheated glassed porch, the cage is 4.5 ft by 2.5 by 3ft. Has your ceramic heater been used in bird cages? What adaptations would make it workable. It is hard to find no light heaters for bird cages.

if used with the wire cage clamp LF-10, can it be used on top of a terrarium instead of inside?

I use it on top of my chameleon cage (the top of the cage is wire). It is not clamped on.

Yes you should consider using a thermostat also to regulate the temperature so it doesn’t make the environment too hot

I have a leopard gecko and recently got this new tank. I’ve used basking bulbs at 100 watts because the height of my old enclosure was 2ft. The new one is 18in high and I was wondering if this would be good. The temperature needs to be around 80-90°F.

Yes a ceramic heat matter would be suitable for heat for leopard gecko but, no matter what type of heating you use you should use a thermostat to control it and keep your enclosure at the proper temperature.

Unless the room that you keep the colony in is extremely cold the 100 watt is probably going to produce much more heat than you need.

Is this recommend for a African fat tailed gecko. In a 10 gallon tank? The temp has to be 90 degrees. I figured this would be the better.

It would be too hot for your gecko. Somewhere online there is a chart that tells you how hot the ceramic heat emitter gets from a certain distance. I think a 40 watt would work for a 10 gallon. It is also worth mentioning that a fat tailed gecko needs about a 20 gallon long enclosure. Hoped that helped!

Joe and I love in AZ. Joe my African Sulcata Tortoise lives in my backyard AS winters can be cold. Joe is currently housed in a small resin dog house he needs heat at night but not sure which wattage or lamp to use, any suggestions. Curious Mom

If the housing is not extremely small for your tortoise and have enough height clearance to keep the heat lamp at least 12 inches from the tortoise, the ZooMed 100 watt ceramic heat unit is a good choice . However , you should plug it into a thermostat controlled power unit. If the housing has a lot of air ventilation, using some insulating cover is a good idea for temp stability and power economy. Even a bath towel or two will accomplish that. Of course, adequate light during the day is necessary to keep the tortoise in some natural day / night cycle.
