I have had this product for about 3 months now for my crested gecko and have have no issues. it’s kept on a thermostat at 74 degrees and it does exactly as it’s supposed to. my geckos much more active now and i’m able to keep their enclosure at a good temperature gradient.

So I bought it awhile back never used it, I finally decided to use it for my 50 gallon leopard gecko terrarium it makes heat but the first 4 minutes it started to make click sounds undone know if that’s what It makes when it hits a certain temperature but it also smells like it’s burning. I had to take it out twice if supposed to be like this let me know please

I got this in January for my crested . Wanted a back up because I live in the dorms and they can get pretty chilly when the weather is in the negatives. Whelp it was -2 and I was watching my temps in his terrarium and it was dropping low 60s. So I was going to put the heat bull on. I had used it once before and it’s burnt out or something. My gecko was getting dark colored stressed cause of the cold and the item I got specifically to help that situation failed. Used hot hands, washcloth, a kritter keeper, and some of his plants . And took a blanket and wrapped the keeper top uncovered for air . This is unacceptable that is used once and then is no good .

It works great for my juvenile crested gecko habitat. I have had it for about a month now with no problems and it fits in my regular dome fixture.

This is a well built ceramic heater. The major problem with this heater however is that it’s too small to be useful in a terrarium with out other heaters, unless your tank is less than 2 gallons. The heater is good if you keep house geckos or crested geckos in which the terrariums temp should be the same as room temp. I keep my house around 70°F and if the heater is kept on constantly it will maintain a enclosure temp of 75°F in a 10g tank. A positive for this heater is that it can provide a heat gradient in smaller tanks which is hard to do.

They keep deleting my review. I have now purchased 3 separate heat emitters and none have worked. Tried in a known working zoomed nano dome. Doesnt heat up. Tested with a multimeter as well. They need to fix the issues

Ive never used one of these before. Do you need to get the nano dome as well? Does it set right on the top of the mesh aquarium lid? Trying to find some supplemental heating for my pacman frog.

I have used these with regular domes for years and still use them like this without problem. You do not need to use a nano dome.

I have 1/4” pvc cages approx. 36x22x18, would you think that a 25 watt ceramic would be sufficient, the snakes need to be between 82-84

The 40w works great to provide heat in my crested gecko’s 18x18x18 Exoterra. I have it centered in the back half where the heat concentrates on a ledge and one of her climbing vines. It seems to maintain adequate ambient heat in our house, but it will not radiate heat as far as the lower third of the tank if that’s what you’re looking for. I have temperature/humidity probes in my her habitat so I can monitor, and she seems to move around to wherever she is most comfortable.

I wouldn't recommend using this without a dome that has a dimmer switch on it to adjust output. Monitoring surface temperature with an infrared temperature gun is a good idea. I do not know the maximum unrestricted temperature.

It is not battery powered, it has a traditional plug on it, should be used with a fixture that has a dimmer switch so it doesn't get too hot. Fluker makes one. These are great for providing heat without light for reptiles and other animals.

Hermit crabs require tropical temperatures and tropical humidity so unfortunately I'm not sure if this would be hot enough. The temperature in Fahrenheit is not given.
