Got it to house my mantis hatchlings. So far so good. The mantis babies and the flightless flies that they eat cannot get out through any of the holes. I would highly recommend it as a first terrarium because it come with all the fixings that you would need to instantly start housing any small critters (substrate, cave log, hanging fake plant). I got it on sale for $25 and would buy another when it need more space. They only thing that would improve it is if there were side glass doors. Having said that the plastic ceiling mesh door is working out pretty.

Purchase for baby bush vipers and notice the gap in between the locks are a perfect space for a escape I would not take a chance putting anything that’s small enough to live in this space is small enough to escape horrible design

Great deal for what you get, I use it for my turantula. I added some driftwood, a koi pond water dish, and a rocky background image. For lighting I just used a small clip on reading light.

Warning: dimensions on the product are wrong on the website. It is not 11.75 length but height. This matters if you want to try to design a bottom using bath tiles for humidity purposes.

No. This enclosure is way too small for hermit crabs. You may want to spend some time researching hermit crab care sheets. In particular, the Land Hermit Crab Society or Hermit Crab Association are excellent places to get care information.

I was wondering if the Zoo med screen clips would work with this terrarium. I saw that petco sells them for $2.98.I saw that a couple of people mentioned having problems with the top and I would like to be able to use the clips that are sold extra.

The tops latch into the enclosure, there's no need for an additional latch. These enclosures aren't like the older models labeled Bugariums, which just had a screen top that settled over the top of the glass, the top of this enclosure is plastic attached to the glass with a separate plastic/screen mesh lid that locks into place with a tab on each the sides.

Can I keep a Juvenile to adult mourning gecko (only one)

If it's a full sized adult yes. But I don't recommend it. The lid is held in place by 2 clips, on on each side. There is a large enough gap that your gecko may escape and definitely any fruit flies are able to get out of.

Can this house a (Praying) Mantis?

Depends on the species. You need to figure out the minimum measurement for the species you intend to keep. It also needs some minor modifications to the lid to make it safe for their feet. It should also be noted that top opening enclosures aren't recommended for mantis, but you *can* do it.

no thy need flat tanks i say get the zoo med creatures low profile not the high profile one thee scorpion can live in the low profile one for the first half of its life
