My painted turtle LOVES these Turtle Chasers. They stopped carrying them at local pet store. It was great that Petco had them at a good price and fast shipping.

Several issues in one visit.

First, these Turtle Chasers are priced at $5.25 per 2 oz. package online, but I was charged $9.99 per 2 oz. package in store for 2 packages coming up to $19.98 at the Holyoke, MA store #00777. My bill should have been $10.50 ($5.25 X 2), so I was overcharged by $9.48. Inaccurate pricing between the app and the stores is a huge issue that needs to be rectified because it's false advertising. Second, these Turtle Chasers rarely float as others have mentioned. I buy them because my RES terrapin loves the taste of them. Third, all you carry is the shrimp chasers and not the clam chasers. The clam chasers aren't even listed for online purchases. Fourth, there were no live crickets available at the Holyoke store #00777. There was a "take home" cup of dead baby crickets. Fifth, there were no feeder ghost shrimp and no colorful tank shrimp. No crayfish/small freshwater lobsters. Overall, the store tanks weren't looking too healthy.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I paid $8.99 for these and I am very disappointed. I put one in and initially it floated and the turtle eventually grabbed it and swam away with it and would try to bite it when it floated to the surface again. After a couple bites and only a minute or two after placing it in the tank, it sunk to the bottom and the turtle couldn't find it anymore. Then it began to fall apart. I had to fish it out off the bottom of the tank because it was coming apart and dirtying the water that I'd just changed (55 gallons worth). Will not buy again. Too bad because I think he liked it. If they would put a plastic ball inside that would keep it floating all the time it might work. Was actually funny watching him swim around with the whole thing in his mouth like a dog with a bone. Unfortunately it sunk before we could even get a photo of him with it.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Turtle Treats

My Red Ear Slider absolutely loves these treats. She really does chase them down when I drop them in her tank. Right after, she wants another. She would probably eat the whole bag if I dropped them in. Only thing I don't enjoy is the smell and they cloud up the water.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Why are they called floaters when they don't float?! They did not float for even a moment. I carefully placed one just now to see if it would float but nope-straight to the bottom of the tank. He has absolutely no interest in it. I guess my catfish will.

  1. Haven't got a clue why the ones you have aren't floating, they always float when I drop them in, the wave makers move them across the surface and the turtles chase them. One of our 3 turtles isn't interested but the other two love them.

How many come in one bag?

  1. The size of the treats vary, so we can't definitively say. It is a two ounce bag.
