Can this work for a parakeet?

This hammock is very spacious. It is open-ended and can be configured "open" or in a "tunnel" if you put the clips on the same top bar of the cage. This would probably be the best option for a parakeet if you formed a long "tunnel" roll. There is definitely enough room for a parakeet to lay down and include almost all of its tail feathers. The inner lining is fleece-like and will provide warmth and security. Animals can be finicky and not prefer a toy you give them but I would give this one a try. I use it for my pet rats who use it as a method to enter and exit their cage. The price is good and the product is well-made. Good luck!

It's a cute little hammock that my ferrets like, but I wish the fur side were a little more resilient. They dug all the fur off it pretty quickly, as they usually do with this line of hammocks. They'll still use it without the fur; it's just not as elegant looking.
