Are the vegetables cooked before hydration or are they raw?

Hi there! Thanks for your question. Our leafy greens are steamed in a dry-steam process, which occurs after dehydration, as a food safety measure. All our remaining produce is dehydrated below 104F and is still considered raw after the drying is complete. Our potatoes and grains are flash heated (and rolled in the case of our grains) to help break down the cellulose, which aids digestion. They are then gently dehydrated to remove the moisture. My dogs wake me up each morning to eat and come get me at dinner time. One of them follows me around as I prepare it. I have been feeding my dogs Honest Kitchen dehydrated food for over 10 years. I recently switched to grain free because I noticed one of them was scratching and neither was digesting the carrots in the other flavors. Great response so far.
