If it included an ammonia lock it could be a 5 star review. Multiple tanks 3-75 gallons, 30+ years experience, and no product related issues.

If I'm starting a new aquarium (3.5 gallon), how soon can I put in the fish after adding AquaSafe Plus?

  1. AquaSafe Plus works in less than 5 minutes, even in new tanks with all new water.

Is this safe for baby turtles

  1. Yes, it is, but we do make an AquaSafe for Reptiles and Amphibians as well, which is a different formula, more appropriate to turtles.

When I'm starting a new tank 10 gallon should I only put 10 mil. Or more the first time

  1. According to the label, you need 5ml per 10 gallons.

When doing a partial water change on my 15 gallon tank, should I dose at a rate to equal the WHOLE tank volume, or should dose at only a rate that equals only the NEW water I am adding to the tank? I usually change out three to four gallons.

  1. You only need to dose the new water you are putting in. Good job on doing partial water changes. I do them every 7-10 days on my tank, it definitely helps keep the water in great condition for my fish.

When doing a partial water change on my 15 gallon tank, should I dose at a rate to equal the WHOLE tank volume, or should dose at only a rate that equals only the NEW water I am adding to the tank? I usually change out three to four gallons.

  1. Read the instructions on YOUR bottle. They may vary. Mine advises to shake the bottle before using at a rate of 1ml per gallon. Thats about 14 drops per gallon or 1 drop/cup. Add it to the water before you add it to the tank. I let the water sit next to the tank 1/2 a day so ambient temperature will match the tank water.

Can this be used for a pac man frogs water dish and misting water?

  1. Yes, it would be safe to use for that.

can I pour this with fish in it?

  1. yes, just not directly on them. i suggest mixing it with water and then pouring it in.

Our city is switching to Chloraminated water in a couple of weeks. I’ve always used Aquasafe in my aquariums. Will it remove the extra ammonia created now? Or do I have to switch brands?

  1. Yes. Aquasafe conditions water tanks with perfection. Just follow the instructions so you put the correct amount of the product for your tanks.

What happens if you overdose? The bottle said 2 teaspoons/10mL per 10 gallons but Tetra said in the questions to only use 1 teaspoon (which is what I originally thought it was too). But I already put 2 teaspoons in my water. Is it safe for my fish?

  1. Yes, your inadvertent mistake is fine. There is additional dosage allowed especially if you are cleaning more than 50% of your tank at a time. Your fish will be fine. You can resume normal dosage next treatment time.

When adding clearwater do I have to remove the fishes out of the tank?

  1. No, this product can be added to the tank with the fish in it. Always be sure to do partial water changes on a regular basis and keep them small, to prevent shock and keep the tank healthy and balanced.
