The Tassled Filefish is a beautiful fish that has such unique compared to all other fish. Their bodies are tan in color with darker horizontal stripes and tassels. The tassels allow this Filefish to camouflage into their environment. They have an adult size of about a foot in size and should be housed in at least 180 gallons when fully grown. Add to an aquarium with rockwork to act as a shelter and weedy areas to mimic their natural habitat. This Filefish is fairly easy to care for compared to other Filefish. They are peaceful but can be territorial if housed with other Filefish. Please house with only very docile tank mates to reduce the chance of the Tassled being picked on. They will eat captive diets but it may not happen right away. Filefish have high metabolisms and should be fed around three times a day. The Tassled Filefish is found in the Indo-West Pacific inhabiting weedy areas of coastal reefs up to 25 meters deep.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
