Hello. I have two feeders, one has started making a grinding noise when closing. Has this happened to anyone else. and if so, is there a way to fix it?

  1. follow the directions on cleaning it.  some food particle is probably stuck somewhere.

How many microchips can you enable? I'd like to give access to 4 cats.

  1. no problem, the limit is up to 32 pets!

Does this item include everything I need except batteries or do I have to buy more stuff - I don't care about a phone app.

  1. It comes with the feeder, bowls, and a tag. If your pet is chipped, you can easily program the pet into the feeder in a matter of seconds. You will need 4 C batteries. We bought 8 rechargeables and swap them every few months.

If I get another cat after the other passed away, can I use the new cat's microchip for the same feeder?

  1. Yes you can. You simple have to program the feeder to allow the new microchip

Does it come with a split bowl or a single bowl? I know you can buy separate accessories but not sure if it already comes with split bowl.

  1. Mine came with a split bowl AND a single bowl.

Neither Of my cats are microchipped, and neither wear a collar (nor like to wear a collar) I was just wondering which microchips work with this feeder, I know there is a website to check but I'm planning to get them chipped before buying, please help.

  1. I have four different chips and all of them work. For the baby, I had to use a small collar and the special tag they include with each feeder until she was microchipped.  I use the older Sureflap feeder for the skinny Siamese and the connect Sureflaps for the Russian blue and Ragdoll mix with weight problems.

What kind of batteries are required? Can't find it in description! Thanks.

  1. This microchip feeder uses C Batteries. You need a total of 4.

Can you program it to open for two different microchips? Or can it only be programmed to one? I have 2 cats that free-feed healthily and a third who steals all their food and is overweight, I want something to keep her out while letting the other two in

  1. Hi- Yes, you can. I have 2 cats that share one feeder. There is a button on the back that you press for each microchip. Super easy and super fast to set up. I have an overweight kitty as well, so i have one feeder for 2 of my kitties to share, and one feeder for my overweight kitty (so 2 feeders). I landed out getting my overweight kitty a feeder as well, because the other kitties would eat the out of her regular feeder as well, and I could not keep track of her rationed portion. Now with the microchip feeder i know exactly home much she is eating. I love these feeders. I know they are pricey, but do love them. Hope this helps.

Is there a medium (dog sized) product? My dogs are around 45-60 lbs and I really want this product but I am afraid my pups are too big for it....

What is the return policy for this product? Interested in buying it for one of my cats but I’m concerned about her not wanting to use it or the chip reader not working well enough.

    1. The chip reader works GREAT for my cat that has an implanted chip. However it did take some training, as my cat was scared of it at first. But now she has no issues and it's working great for us.

I purchased this for my senior cat who "needs" to eat every 3 hours. He bothers me for a snack frequently and will vomit bile overnight if he hasn't eaten. He's been worked up for every condition at the vet so it may be behavior or food related. To help get all his snacks I bought the microchip feeder. It was super easy to program and he understood the gist of it. He's not a huge fan of it closing because he prefers to have space to eat. This is likely a contributing factor to our problem because his baby sister is a SEE FOOD eater. But the feeder does what it is supposed to and closes right away on her. I also programed my problematic allergy cat to use this feeder and she's on top of it. Super easy to program her and she loves being able to snack whenever she wants to, especially on GI sensitive medicine. It's turning into her feeder more than anything, but that's fine in our house. I haven't tried putting wet food in, but will likely do that soon. It is easy to set up. My cats were easy to program, however they are on the thin/good body score side. Of you have a hefty cat or their microchip has migrated, I can see it being an isse. It closes when the cat steps away and the company offers shields to protect the back from sneaks if needed. I'm happy with the purchase.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I am still in the training stage with my cat, but the feeder is easy to use. I wish it came with stainless steel bowls instead of plastic, but other than that it's a good product.

Stopped working correctly after 10 months

Once we set up some blockades around the side of the feeder it worked well to keep our greedy cat away from our timid cat’s food. However, after about 9-10 months of use, it straight up opens for our greedy cat. He just pushes his little nose between the bottom and the door and it automatically opens for him. We’ve tried everything - replaced batteries, reset all settings, re-paired our timid cat’s microchip, etc. Very disappointed that something so expensive doesn’t even function after less than 1 year.

No, I do not recommend this product.

One of my cats is a grazer, while my other one was a previous food scarce feral who will eat everything in sight. I got this to prevent fatty from getting to her sister’s food and it works like a charm. She occasionally tries to wait for her chance to get in there and eat, but doesn’t make it in time before the door closes.

Great for keeping food from other pets!

Got this cause my cats needed to go on a diet and one of them was hoarding food from the other. And I just had to order a second because one of my cats knows she has guaranteed food but still eats out of the other bowl. Soon they won't be able to steal food from each other.

Just what I hoped it would be

I’ll start with the bad news. I did not see in the product description that four C batteries are needed to operate the feeder. Maybe my mistake but not my favorite thing about this product. Good news - this feeder is working like I hoped it would. I saw reviews for other products that certain pet microchips didn’t work with their feeder. My cat’s microchip works with this feeder. She started using it immediately. She’s a pretty brave cat and was essentially unfazed by it. It’s very quiet and moves not too slowly but not too fast. The directions say there is a low battery warning, so I’ll wait and see how long the batteries last.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

My one cat got sick and needed a special high cal diet while my other is a pig and eats everything. This has been the only thing I could find that would work to keep fatty from eating all of the food. Easy to program and read my cat's microchip no issue. Reliably opens for him. On rare occasion, it does not close when he leaves it and fatty has some time to chow down. I had to make a barricade to the opening because it's so wide they both can easily sit and eat next to each other without having narrowed the opening with various packing material it came in. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend. They should sell it in different entrance sizes or offer an adapter to the front to for smaller cats so intruders can't eat at the same time as them.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
