My hyacinth macaw is covered with scabs. We thought it was the rough winter and a very dry house, so we upped the humidity and apply raw coconut oil to the affected areas every day which helps, but new scabs keep popping up and the problem doesn't seem to be going away. I am looking to get a bigger cage for my 2 year old conure. Currently I’m in the market to buy one online that is advertised as a “solid metal cage” coated with “non-toxic hammertone paint” which included stainless steel dishes. I was just wondering if this would actually be a safe cage for a green cheek. The seller is YaheeTech, which is based in Ontario California but customer pictures show a box with "Made in China." Mostly 5 stars, with lowest rating be 3 stars. Is non-toxic hammertone safe?

Hi! Im thinking of getting a Blue and yellow Macaw bird recently and ive been doing some searching but im also scared it will be a problem with introducing the bird to my cats. Also, i live in a big house and some areas will have to be off limits as to where the bird can go so i dont know how i can insure that the macaw doesnt go there. Help!
Can I take a shower with a Amazon Parrot? What temperature range water is safe? Do I need to give them a cuttle cone? What to chew one? How often do I have to take them for beak/wing/nail trim? What size cage? It would probably be out a lot because I am home most every day. Only gone on Fridays. I want a bird that can do almost everything with me and not too small. About a medium bird?
