Royal Canin(R) Urinary SO is a veterinary-exclusive wet dog food developed to nutritionally support your adult dog's urinary tract and bladder health. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It helps increase the amount of urine your dog produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. And the specialized nutrition in this dog food wet formula, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some dogs. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your dog on Royal Canin Urinary SO Dog Food for long-term urinary support.

My 2 yo Lab/Ridgeback is 86 lbs yes overweight and has a urine ph of 5. I have her on grain free Taste of the Wild venison/buffalo 2.5 cups daily. Without spending $80.00 for a 17 lb bag of Royal Canin So , what dry food or treatments might you recommend for Rylee?
Noticed 12 yr. F. Lab Retriever having trouble releasing urine. Visit to vet for vaccine, felt dogs tummy and suggested ultra sound. Suggested immediate surgery because many stones seen. After surgery said most stones ever seen. I saw them, 15 lbs of stones. Says needs to be on Royal Canine Urinary SO dog food for life. She is not tolerating more than 1/2 her food being this food. Am mixing with her old food Blue Buffalo Senior. Now suggesting other Brand. Need special food for life?
My vet has prescribed to may cat Royal canin SO (as he had Urinary disease). However, I read its ingredients, it contains lots of grain and carbs, meat quality and content are also very dubious (probably 4D meats). Are there any alternatives against urinary disease, but grain-free, low carbs and good meat?
My cat has had Royal Canin Urinary SO normal calorie dry food for past 8 years after getting struvite stone surgery. In last 6mo. she has gone from 8lb to 6.3lb. vet says it's because she hasn't been eating well and leukemia virus, thyroid, CBC, kidney fox were normal. She started on SO wet food but only eats a little (<1can/day + Little of ad lib dry). We tried blue wilderness wet salmon food for higher protein (sarcopenia bc low protein in SO diet.) Will this help her gain/maintain weight?
What is the best wet cat food for urinary crystals in an adult male cat? We are currently using the urinary SO but it’s very expensive.
Dog started Royal Canin S/O 6 wks ago due to 2 UTIs in the past 6 months and crystallization in the bladder after 2nd round of antibiotics. Since, she's still defecting 2x/day but is producing less stool (thinner and in smaller pieces but moist). The other morning, she vomited food from 12 hrs prior, which has never happened before. She also seems to be eating less but is drinking more water and urinating more from the diet. How concerning and emergent is this? Called and her vet is off today.
My dog had urinary stones and now is on Royal Canin GI low fat SO canned food to help prevent stone formation. Besides the same brand treats is there other human food such as carrots, sugar snap peas, meats etc that are safe to feed her?
What else can I add to supplement my Dog's diet? He's just had the Bladder surgery but ongoing monthly costs for a 35kg dog on other than Hills Prescription u/d diet (375kg.) dry ^ Hills UD 375 cans (I've purchased a month's worth) is VERY expensive on an ongoing basis.Thank you
best dog treats for poodle with struvite crystals. has had bladder infections but not one right now. Already on Royal Canine SO and distilled water.
My cat was recently diagnosed with a lower urinary tract infection and crystals. He was prescribed veraflox and the vet recommended I switch his food to Royal Canin urinary SO. I have no problem buying the food, but it’s very expensive for the small amount of food. Is there another brand of food that I can use that will do the same thing? Or is there a better food then Royal Canin? I just want the best for my boy.
Is it OK to mix royal canon SO with Muse(natural chicken, egg & pumpkin grain free) to get him to eat more SO. Three year old 14 lbs house cat, water intake good
Best low-carb wet food for cats?
