Is the product Rat X really safe for pets? I don't see how it can kills rats and mice, but not kill my pets. Active ingredients: corn gluten meal 55%, sodium chloride 2%. Inert ingredients: Maltodextrin, sorbitol, wheat flour, wheat germ oil

I found a dead rat when I arrived home this evening. It had been killed and partially eaten by one or possibly 2 of my French bulldogs.
