Exactly as shown and what I wanted. The center entrance works perfectly for where I needed to place it.

I needed a side entry litter box and this one has exceeded my expectations. It's very spacious inside. The litter lid is a bit translucent to let in a lot of light. I have a kitty who tends to step in her poo, so I'm hoping the extra light helps with that. One thing I really love is how well built this box is. I looked at several little boxes in the store, but they all felt so flimsy and cheap. This one does not, and although I still think it's a bit expensive for what it is, it was money well spent, and I'd buy it again.

We have a space under a set of shelves where we wanted to tuck away a litter box, and come to find out there are not a lot of "side entry" boxes out there where you can enter from the wide side of the box AND that are also covered boxes. We got this because it seemed to be the best option, if not one of the only options. It's pretty straightforward but you sacrifice a fair amount of functionality compared to leading normal boxes. Examples: 1) The top just snaps over the bottom, no real secure fit with any kind of patch, although I don't think it's a major issue. 2) There's no easy way to add more litter. Many boxes have a portion of the top that pops off to allow pouring from a box, but this doesn't have that so I find myself having to pull the whole thing out, take off the lid, dump in more litter, and push it back in. Not ideal. 3) Similar issue to #2, the opening isn't as big as I'd like. When scooping, you really need to twist your hand and wrist to get the litter from the sides and corners of the box. Many other litter boxes allow you to flip part of the top up to increase space for reloading litter and scooping, or else the opening simply goes all the way to the top of the lid to allow for the same. 4) I wish it was maybe 2" wider at the bottom. As you can see from the photo it tapers in for design reasons rather than functionality. Just make it a rectangle to allow more area on the bottom. 5) Many competitors have a lip on the entry to the box. My boy cats like perching on this lip to pee and this doesn't have it. In summary, this is a pretty basic no-frills box. It's not nearly as well thought-out as the many competitors where the can enters from the narrow side, but if you need one that's wide rather than deep, this will do the trick -- and you don't have many alternatives out there.
