For the prevention of heartworm disease, Revolution must be applied monthly, preferably on the same date each month. Drs. Foster and Smith recommends (and our guarantee requires) that Revolution be used year round, although some veterinarians may recommend using it only during the mosquito season. If used seasonally, the first dose must be applied within 30 days of the pet's first exposure to mosquitoes. The last dose must be applied within 30 days after the pet's last exposure to mosquitoes. To control fleas, apply the first dose one month prior to the expected start of the flea season. Part the hair on the back of the pet at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the tube 3-4 times to empty the entire contents on the skin. Do not massage into skin or apply to broken skin. Do not apply when the haircoat is wet.

Vet's Best Flea & Tick Solutions for Cats
Adopted 2 cats from county animal shelter last Dec. They'd been seized from hoarder by county. They recently started scratching as if they have fleas, but I can't find any fleas or flea dirt (white cats). Vet prescribed Revolution (selamectin), once monthly, to control fleas, ear mites, intestinal hookworm & roundworm, and heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis). I asked for ::::safest effective:::: med (for cats) for these issues, with least potential adverse side effects. Is that what I got???
I have been using the prescription revolution flea drops from my vet for my cats since they were 2 months old, now almost 11 months and they still have many many fleas. Is their another solution that can get rid of these fleas??
Does Revolution cat flea med last more than 30 days? I'm out & waiting for order to ship & my 13 y/o kitty wants outside. Last dose was 33 days ago.
I use Revolution on my cat monthly. The vet used to give me Revolution Blue...but this time I was given Revolution Purple. What is the difference between the two??
I cannot find my dog’s regular flea/tick meds (topical Revolution 20.1-40.1lbs) b/c it’s on back order even with my vet. I’m panicking b/c idk what to give my dog that is equivalent to that flea/tick med. She hasn’t missed a single dose since she was 8 weeks old. I’m worried she won’t get the protection that she needs. Is there something similar to Revolution that I can give her that protects against mites, fleas, ticks, round, hook and heartworms???
Is Revolution necessary for my indoor cat? Or can I use a flea and tick treatment such as Advantage?
My cat gets frontline plus once a month consistently all year long. No fleas all year till this past friday. This weekend I have remover with flea comb a few live small fleas and flea dirt. His last frontline was sat 9/28/19. Is it safe and beneficial if I start him now ( 10/7/19) on REVOLUTION? We live in nj and he is about 22 pounds. He is an inside outside cat. Also, if results on revolution are the same, can he then be put back into frontline. I'm scared of these chemicals.
What are the best flea and tick medication for our 16 pound mixed breed cat? Thank you!
What is the best monthly flea and parasite topical prevention medication?
Hello! My understanding is there is no one treatment for my outdoor cat that will address ticks, fleas, and worms. Currently I am using Revolution drops on her. Any advise on what 2 options that I can use together to address all three concerns? Thanks!
My cat (17) is really troubled by fleas. She gets Revolution once/month. I believe it helps but even after 3 weeks she’s scratching furiously and sometimes meowing in dismay. Better medication? Treatment for environment?? Thank you.
Hello, my kittens use cheristin flea treatment and had a dose one week ago. However, they both now have ear mites and will be using revolution to help with that along with tresaderm and ear wash. How long should I wait to give them revolution after having a dose of cheristin last week? One kitten is 13.7 lbs and the other is 7.5 lbs.
