Is purina pro plan kidney function advanced care canned diet as good a prescription kidney diet as royal Canin and hills canned kidney diets? Purina seems to be the one my cat prefers most. Thanks!
My male cat is almost 14. I know he is starting kidney problems due to the extra water he drinks at this point. and a bit thinner. lots of energy still. I read they need at least 50% protein, I give him wet and dry which i know is not good, but lots of wet and freeze dried chicken too, vit with dig enzymes. Can you suggest the best Wet high protein food and anything else from Petco?
My 15 yr old Maine Coon cat is beginning to have a little kidney “aging” according to my vet. “His kidney numbers were a little off - not bad”. He suggested a prescription food - KD - my cat will NOT eat it - 4 days now. He had been on Putin’s Pro Plan - prime plus - which he loved! Can you recommend a dry food with less protein and potassium. - which my vet says hinders the kidneys. Thank you in advance.
my kitty has kidney disease and today i ran out of her can renal prescription can cat food..so shes has a appt..tomorrow becasue she may ahve a uti..and might can get a few cans from there then..but what can i feed her thats over the counter for tonight in in morning?i like wet food?
my 12 year old cat was recently diagnosed with early stages of kidney disease. i had her eating the dry food from Hills K/D and she was ok with that. Then i moved her to the wet food because she stopped eating the dry. now she’ll eat the wet food for a day or so and then refuses. the only food she never misses a meal is fancy feast pate and blue buffalo healthy gourmet pate. i know commercial food isn’t great, but are either of these foods near the percentile a kidney cat needs?
My 16 yr old Persian cat was recently diagnosed w/kidney disease. Doc prescribed Hill's Kidney Care. I've been trying to give the canned version for the first time ever because of dehydration. She eats some, but not enough, & has dropped from her usual 7 1/2 lbs to about 5 1/2 lbs. She licks & licks, but it takes forever for her to get it in. She also seems unable to pick up the dry version because of it's shape & size and her flat face. What can I do to get her to eat enough?

I feed my cat Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Early Support Chicken Canned Cat Food, and order it from chewy.com, but the are out of stock and vet doesn't carry it. She has only 10 cans left. Is there any other place to get this food quickly?

What's the healthiest brand for wet and dry food? She is currently eating Nutrish dry and Special Kitty canned. I would like a brand that supports overall health and wellness. My cat was diagnosed by his vet and told that he has the beginning stage of kidney failure but the very beginning so it's not horrible. She recommended just changing his diet to a kidney formula diet. I've been giving him Purina Pro Plan Vet Diet Kidney Function dry food. I've noticed that his feces is a very very dark brown, super dry, and skinny looking. I was wondering if this is due to the food he is prescribed or is this a sign his kidney's are getting worse? He drinks plenty of water.
