Insulin delivery

Delivery on time. Only issue was the insulin, which has to be refrigerated, was in a "cooler" box but the two ice packs were completely thawed and the carbboard box that the insulin was in was wet and falling apart.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Newman's vet started him on this when he was first diagnosed with diabetes. He's done well on it and has had no side effects from the usage of Pro-Zinc.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased ProZinc from Petco because I received a huge savings over what I was paying through my vet. With 7 cats any savings is appreciated.

My cat is 14yrs old and was Dx'd Diabetic in fall of 2018. He's been on Vetsulin since then and only needed 1 unit 2x a day, some days we were able to skip a dose. We decided to try ProZinc because of the high remission rate associated with it, but sadly, it hasn't helped my cat at all. He's on 2 units 2x a day and his numbers are still in the 250-300 range. Nothing else has changed, so I don't believe this type of insulin is compatible with him. Back to the Vetsulin we go sadly. At least we got to try it out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Cat has been on a couple of insulins since being diagnosed & ProZinc seems like he is most stable & comfortable. Other insulins had to change dosages frequently.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We live in the Nevada desert can the ice pack they use in shipping be increased to 3 or 4 instead of the two that they used last time. I have a concern as our weather is now in the triple digits and the last order of insulin was just cool not cold.

How carefully is the insulin handled during shipping? I want to order online but am concerned about the handling as insulin should not be shaken or dropped.

    1. The insulin is in a glass bottle inside a paper carton, inside a plastic bag, inside a foam cooler with ice packs (since it has to be refrigerated), inside a cardboard shipping box. Shipped usually priority to keep it cold. Once you unpack it at home, be careful not to drop the glass bottle, I keep mine in the paper carton in refrigerator. Do not shake the bottle before extracting, instead roll it gently to mix, so that bubbles do not form.

    is this shipped refrigerated

    1. Yes. They have it in a cooler with ice packs. You have to pay $19.99 overnight shipping. I order 2 at a time.
