[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works great, even with stubborn dogs. The range is good. It takes a couple of days for the dog to get accustomed to it, so please follow the training instructions and be patient. I can now let my dog go out in the open without being worried.

Wireless fence that works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The idea of this product is great. That being said the receiver I find is an eyesore in the house. It’s very large and was difficult to place because of its size to where it would work efficiently, but also finding where it wasn’t going to be in the way. There is an option to mount it on the wall, which is nice but my husband was not OK with that. The collar is also quite large. It’s a bit too big for my dog but she doesn’t seem to mind wearing it. I have it turned around in my photo so you can see it better. We’ve had no problems with the battery in the collar, so that is great. We placed the flags in our front yard. Our dog learned very quickly where the boundaries were and is no longer going into the neighbor’s yard nor into the street. This fence is very effective and works great. It came with enough flags to make the area large enough to allow enough room for her to still roam in the yard. Overall, this product does what it needs to do. Just needs a few updates to make the receiver smaller.

A modern solution to a challenging problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For ease of setup, I gave the PetSafe Wireless Pet Containment System a 4 stars, but for actual use, it is definitely worth 5 stars for performance. I followed all the instructions to get the perimeter set-up (which is an adjustable sized circle)and got down to training. The manufacturer has a month or more training schedule - my dog caught on quickly in just two days (we spent about 6 hours training in total.) I followed the instructions to a tee just at a more rapid pace since she began catching on after just one shock at a level 2. We left the flag markers in place for about 8-10 days and began removing them as directed over three days. By this time the dog was used to hearing the beep and knew what would come next if she continued in that direction. It has been wonderful , as this also keeps him from wandering off to the neighbors, out to the road, or disappearing out of shouting range. The adjustable radius is great for containing Holly in a smaller area, such as at a BBQ, away from the pool, kids, etc. This is not a system for a small dog as the collar is bulky - I would say the dog should be at least 25 lbs to support the collar. The system is expandable if you buy additional collars (which is still a lot cheaper then building a fence or concrete run). The only down side to this system is that the central unit is not weather proof - so you are advised to place it indoors. The only improvement I can suggest would be to make the unit smaller (it is about the size of a gallon jug) and weather proof, so you could place it in a tree or on a table to get the containment area exactly where you want it (guess you could use the old wire system to do this as well). Overall though it is a great invention works well for my doggo and we don't have any more digging under the house.

Great system that works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I just want to start off with how big the transmitter is. It's really a lot bigger than expected so finding a permit spot for it to go and not be seen is difficult. We have it temporarily hooked up until we come up with a solution. The installation didn't take very long, roughly an hour. We are using this for the front yard that does not have any fencing and is right by a country road. We are hoping after two weeks of training them that they will be good to go but also know that it could take a little longer and our ultimate goal is to have them completely trained to know not to cross the boundary after a month so that they don't have to use a collar. We don't anticipate actually using the shocking part just because our dogs are small and the collar that came with it is big for them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The PetSafe Wireless Fence gave our oet cat more yard to roam without a physical fence. Setup was fairly easy, and the adjustable corrections helped us train Boo. We appreciate the peace of mind knowing Boo is contained. Consistent training with the boundary flags is crucial. Collar battery life is okay but needs monitoring. **Pros:** Easy setup, large area, adjustable correction. **Cons:** Requires dedicated training, battery checks needed. Overall: A decent option for wireless containment, but requires effort and understanding of its limitations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant to try this out at first just because I didn’t want my dogs running off and I didn’t know if it was going to work properly. It was so easy to set up. It took me probably less than 15 minutes to get everything set up. And it worked the first time so I’m extremely happy with that. I think it’s just going to keep my dog safe and give me peace of mind That they’re going to stay on our property.

What are the dimensions of the wireless transmitter box itself?

  1. Thank you for reaching out with this question. The transmitter dimensions are 9" (23.1cm) wide x 9¼" (23.3cm) tall x 8¾" (22.3cm)

I have two dogs. Can I buy another collar and have two connected?

  1. Thank you for reaching out to us with this question. You can add as many wireless receiver collars to this system as you'd like. When shopping for an additional wireless receiver collar, be sure to check it is compatible with wireless fencing, as our In-Ground Fence Collars operate on a different radio signal and are not compatible.

Where should we place& plug in the main unit? The front half of our house is stone. Will this be a problem so he can't go all the way round the house or will the frequency not pass through the stone part?

  1. Thank you for asking this, Brody! Stone materials should not affect the signal of this wireless transmitter. For us to better help you and understand the layout you'd like to achieve, we'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Team by phone, email, or chat. We can be reached at 1-800-732-2677 between the hours of 8 AM - 7 PM ET Monday to Friday. We're happy to help!

I need a shock collar for on my male cat and then the proximity switch on a collar for my female cat. To keep him from attacking her or chasing her. Their both spayed and neutered but they fight all the time.

  1. Thank you for reaching out with this question. Regrettably we do not have a collar and device that can keep your pet away from another.

Is collar reflective

  1. Thank you for your question, Dusky! The Wireless Instant Fence Receiver Collar is not reflective.

I bought this system a few years ago and it randomly will beep which freaks my dog out, he will be sleeping in all of a sudden it will just beep on him, I've changed the batteries in the collar but a little frustrated that it will randomly do this?

  1. The collar will start beeping intermittently, when the battery is running low and about to die. Try putting in a new battery. Also, we remove the collar when the dog is coming indoors for a while. Hope this helps.

how large of area does the unit cover? How many yards?

  1. Thank you for your question! This wireless containment system covers a circular area of 25,447 ft² (2,365 km²) or about ½ acre.

MY SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK, HOW DO I TEST BOTH THE COLLAR AND POWER UNIT SO I CAN DETERMINE WHICH ONE OR ARE BOTH BAD. THE POWER UNIT'S LIGHT IS ON AND THERE ARE NEW BATTERIES IN THE COLLAR AND IT SHOWS VARIOUS FLASHES WHEN THE BUTTON IS PUSHED.

  1. Thank you for your great question. We would love the chance to speak with you directly to help you troubleshoot and find a solution for your Wireless Fence. When you can, please reach out to our Customer Care Center at PetSafe directly. We can be contacted at 1-800-732-2677 or at info@petsafe.net

The neighbors have the same electric fence - their condo is connected to ours so obviously the areas are going to overlap - are they all the same signal & will connect to both collars?

  1. Thank you for your question! Yes, all of our wireless containment systems share the same frequency and are cross-compatible. If the signal fields from each of your transmitters overlap by 30 feet or more, this means your dogs will be able to cross back and forth between each of your yards without receiving a correction.

can i use this collar for my cat who likes to run away?

  1. Thank you for this question, Riley! The Stay & Play Wireless receiver collar can be used for both cats and dogs 5 lbs and up with a neck size of 6" to 28" inches.
