How do you know what size to buy.

I didn’t have good luck. My dog is usually perfect for an xs at Petco but this was too small for him.

The photo of the extra large looks different from the other sizes. It looks like the hems are elasticized, or cut smaller, as opposed to the other sizes that look more like a regular T-shirt. Is it different?
