My kitten likes to scratch my wooden chair, doors,and occasionally the door frames. I bought her a wooden cat scratcher with catnip and all she does is bite, sleeps, and lays on it. Do you have any recommendations on what would be a good scratching post? Sisal rope, Sisal carpet, and etc?

I am building my cat a cat tree, using a branch from a tree for part of it. My question is is there anything I can use on the wood, or the branch that would be cat safe? My cat has a serious and obsessive scratching behavior. I have tried EVERYTHING. She is neutered, tried ALL TYPES OF SCRATCHING POSTS/MATS, tried deterrent sprays, covering the area she scratches, ect. She has an issue scratching the carpet of my home specifically in all the corners. I have covered them all except one because she moves what is covering it. She has ripped up my carpet and she will literally sit there for HOURS scratching when I'm not around! She is doing it for fun! Please help!

Why does my cat scratch my carpet up? She has all sorts of cat posts with various surfaces? She was found outside, then lived an indoor/outdoor life for about 9 months with someone else. Now she is strictly indoors with me. We live in Tucson so she cannot go outside
I am going to purchase a cat bed for my cat soon, I wanted to take a proffesional's advise on where to place my cat bed (please look at attached photos). My cat's favourite place to nap and relax is either the bed or the cat tree, recently the bed more. When shes not napping, she spends time at the kitchen window watching birds and people walking. I asked 2 weeks ago about my daughters' male non neutered cat which I have for a year. He periodically urinates outside of litter box.I have 2 in house on 2 floors, very clean and scraped. He get lots of attention, love and playtime if he is in mood. Took to vet last fall and treated for bladder infection. I can't afford vet and my husband wants to find him new home. Daughter never had any problem with him. Furniture mostly covered drop cloths. He hit couch this morning and I cleaned up. Help!!
