Description

Most arid skinks are fast, agile animals. Arid skinks like to dig and burrow and need plenty of deep substrate in their habitat.

• - Enjoy burrowing, so a thick layer of sand or other loose substrate is recommended
• - Generally tolerate handling from their pet parent, and their temperament has been compared to that of a bearded dragon
• - Primarily insectivores, but may occasionally snack on fruits and vegetables
• - Skinks regularly shed their skin; ensure humidity of habitat is at appropriate level to allow proper shedding
