I bought this for my pet gorami and i thought it was fine because he was able to fit inside it but i had to bend him in half which im sure he did not mind, but then he died!!!!! how could this of happen! so then i used it for my pet 5 red eared sliders and they died also and it cracked open, i taped it shut with scotch tape and it would not hold water anymore!!!!! unbelivable 😫😫😫😫😫😫

This item shouldn't be sold. It's not big enough for anything, especially a betta. If you actually cared about the welfare of the fish you sell, you wouldn't sell this piece of crap.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Never use a fish bowl for fish

Fish bowls are terrible for fish there’s not enough room and especially not enough room for goldfish and bettas so please stop putting fish in fish bowls if you want something to do with a fish bowl make a terrain with it so it looks pretty but for the love of keeping fish healthy and cared for do not use fish bowls or any gallon of tank that is not at least the minimum requirement for a fish. I would like to make this clear I did not buy this product I just want everyone who is uneducated on the matter to know that fish bowls are not good for fish

No, I do not recommend this product.

Why would a pet store sell something that is knowingly detrimental for any sort of fish? Disappointing and disgusting.

this is too small for a fish. That's really the only problem, it's false advertising.

Could I use this for more than one fish?

  1. No. It's not recommended, especially with betta fish male or female, to house more then one in a one gallon tank

can i keep a red male veiltail betta in this bowl?

  1. Yes.  But most experts will say it’s not a permanent solution, that even bettas require a larger tank and some filtration and heat.

Is the plastic used in this bowl free of toxic or poisonous materials? If I keep water in it for months or years will it release chemicals into the water? Also is this durable and shatterproof?

  1. Hi jg8888, All our pet products are tested by a certified third-party testing lab for safety and reliability. This tank is made with durable PET plastic and the rim is PP plastic. These plastics are typical plastics used in similar fish bowls across the industry. The bowl undergoes drop testing at the third party testing lab and at manufacturer to ensure they do not shatter if dropped. The bowl should be cleaned regularly and old water replaced with fresh water weekly. Place the tank out of direct sunlight for pet safety & health and to prevent outgassing. While this bowl is suitable for a Betta, it would not be suitable for most tropical fish. We recommend larger kits for tropical fish and also have many other options for Bettas in store and on our site. Thanks,

I put my beta in this bowl, and she seems to stay at the top like she needs more oxygen. Should I fill the tank to the top or take some water out? HELP

  1. get your fish out of the tank and buy a 5.5-gallon minimum.

Can I fit a yellow male guppie in this tank?

  1. um no no you can not put a guppy in a bowl, either can you a betta, they need heating, filtering, 2.5 gallons minimum.

Im wanting to purchase a snail to go with my moss ball and other live plants (only 2 other plants) will this bowl be ok? Maybe even for a shimp?

  1. If you put a snail in here there's a good chance that it will crawl out of the bowl. I would just put a pretty ornament in it, a silk plant made for bettas, and your moss balls. I have one set up next to my betta's tank that I decorated with a silk betta plant, some pretty gravel, a mermaid ornament, and a couple of moss balls. (My betta also has his own moss balls.) For a snail, I would look for something with a top. Petco has a few on their site that'll work.

What kind of fish would do best in a plastic aquariums for a classroom . It has a fillter and we have not fish in it yet I am trying to fine one that can live in one the best.

  1. no fish can live in a 1 gallon but it will do good for shrimp hope this helps;)

How many years will a Betta fish live in this bowl?

  1. Probably about a month. Order at least a 2.5 gallon tank if you want your betta to have a somewhat decent life. 5+ gallon is the way to go.

how many gallons is it

  1. Hi supermagicpuppy, It is 1 gallon. Thanks

Can I fit a Large Tiger Barb, Extra Large Blue Neon Guppy, and an Platie in this tank altogether?

  1. No, this fish bowl isn't big enough for them. I recommend you look into getting a 5 to 10 gallon tank. You'll also need a filter and a heater as they are tropical fish. You also should get some gravel as well as plants for it. Silk is good & looks nice in a tank. I also recommend you pick up some moss balls as they help with the ammonia found in fish waste.
