We had a window doggie door for years, then we got new windows thinking it would fit. The thickness if the pet window does not fit our window. The thickness needs to be 3/4" or less for it to fit in between the track. Does Anyone have any suggestions?

Is this meant for use in a vinyl window or only an aluminum window?

    1. I don't think it matters. We have used this successfully for 2 years. It just needs to fit in the window frame and is held in place between the bottom of the window and the sill. All our cats love it!

Does this fit in a 24 inch wide window?

    1. The pet window does measure exactly 24” at its smallest, exactly 24! It did not fit my 24” window. The manufacturer has failed to account for the bit that allows a single or double hung  window to slide up and down. This ‘lip’ narrows the access for the pet window. Measure your 24” window at the narrowest point. Mine turned out to be a 22” ‘opening’ even though my window and frame is measured and described as a 24” window.

Cat door doesn’t close all the way when cat exits through it, which prevents cat from getting back in.

I wanted to ask the company, but did the company mention they would try and fix the issue with future doors?

How do you keep the window locked in place for security?

        1. you can buy window locks that lock vertical sliding windows.

What is the total height of this unit? The window I wish to intall it in is 16 1/2 inch tall and 30 inch wide.

        1. Is 15 1/4 " high...was the Med size selected.

Unit is installed, but cats aren't using

The window is nice looking. It was the right height and width, but not quite deep enough to fit my opening. The company suggested using some shims, which I was not prepared. Bought the shims. Window fits fine now. But, no instructions on how to teach the cats to use it!

        Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to install. It went in quickly with no hassle. You know it takes cats a while to get used to something néw. But....Finally got my cats used to it.

Yes, it is a super easy product to install but WHENEVER the wind blows, it blows the door wide open. It was fine in the fall but now it’s winter in Michigan and absolutely freezing in my room. My cat has to sleep under the covers with me now. Lol Spend some more money because it’ll save your heating bill!!

Great overall, but lever may need work.

This door is working great for our cats to access their catio but we struggle with the lever even when we have the door aligned correctly. Perhaps a little heavier duty lever assembly (not light plastic) would be a good idea as the lever gets a lot of use.

This cat flap is all I hoped it would be and more. It is heavier and more solidly built than i anticipated from the picture; quality construction. It installs in under a minute with no need to cut permanent holes in walls or doors and would remove just as quickly if necessary. Looks nice from the outside and our 25+ pound cat easily slips through it. Cats will need a platform of some sort on both sides to access the cat flap at window height if you don't have wide window sills.

        Yes, I recommend this product.

        Good for the price

This product is good for the price. There were $300 on up models, but I don't know if they would have been much better with the exception of the insulation quality. As stated in other reviews, extra insulation is needed. Also the sides did not expand all the way to the edge of the window on one window but it did on a smaller window that I purchased the window insert for. All in all it works but there are a few imperfections that could easily be improved on w/o additional costs to the product. Also the vinyl insulation strips are taped to the inside of the box. Not the best place.

        Yes, I recommend this product.

        Great Solution for Window Access

I have a very large cat (16-17 lbs) and flap has room to spare. The flap swings very smoothly on entrance, but the exit direction catches ever so slightly (this may be a result of it becoming 'unsquared' during shipping). Regardless, my cat has taken to it fairly easily and is using it regularly. I appreciate the unobstructed view aspects of this product, and the construction is solid.

        Yes, I recommend this product.
