Good bedding for Hamsters

I like Oxbow brand because they specialize in small animal care. This is a good product that we use where I volunteer. It's very absorbent. We also mix in some shredded newspaper to extend the bedding and to give the hamsters a different texture to play in. If you use newspaper, make sure the ink is not toxic.

Would this be good bedding for a cat shelter?

    This is very fluffy similar to shredded toilet paper, they would inhale the dust. I would think the best bedding for a cat shelter would be old worn out blankets.
