Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Alfalfa hay is a high-fiber legume hay, which offers young rabbits the same long-strand fiber found in grass hays, but with more protein, energy, and calcium. It is also sweeter and softer than other hays. Alfalfa is a legume forage hay that is referred to as the "queen of forages." It differs from grass hays such as Timothy, orchard, and oat in its leaf, stem, and root structure. Perfect for young or lactating animals that need extra nutrition. A great way to encourage sick or older pets to eat. Product of the USA. Hay purchased in larger sizes (over 6 lbs) offers you an excellent per-pound value. Because the larger sizes are packed by the bale or flake, Oxbow is unable to view and hand sort all interior portions. All hay is a product of nature, so there will always be some variability of quality in a particular bale or flake. As you remove daily feeding portions, you may encounter some interior hay that you choose to discard.

  • - High-quality fiber source recommended by veterinarians for your rabbit, guinea pig, or chinchilla
  • - Helps your pet meet his specific nutritional requirements and keeps his digestive tract functioning properly
  • - Alfalfa hay is sweeter and softer than other hays

The oat hay seems a bit stale! The pieces are beige colored, and my piggie is not excited about them at all!

I just got three young guinea pigs. This is the first time I bought alfalfa hay. I have purchased Timothy Hay and Orchard Hay many times. This alfalfa hay is about 50% dust. Just terrible. Garbage.

No, I do not recommend this product.
