We recently replaced the carpeting in our house with hardwood floors. My 13-year-old healthy cat likes to jump up/down the furniture and shelves and I worry that the impact of the landings is hard on his joints. Should I buy rugs for him to land on? If so, what products would be helpful?
We're considering a dog for adoption; likely basset-beagle mix (foster maybe some terrier). We have three staircases in our 4-floor townhouse. Concerned that stairs would be bad for his back if he shares that problem with Basset hounds. Do you think he will have issues based on these measurements, and the photo attached? 15" Neck; 15" Front paw/leg to shoulder area; 15" Rear paw/leg to shoulder area; 27" Chest circumference; 23 1/2" Base of neck to base of tail.
Why does my cat scratch my carpet up? She has all sorts of cat posts with various surfaces? She was found outside, then lived an indoor/outdoor life for about 9 months with someone else. Now she is strictly indoors with me. We live in Tucson so she cannot go outside
Hi! We have this cat room (pictures attached) because they don't get along with Pharah. Is the cat room okay? We can't really afford any cat "furniture" right now or the doggy gates so we have a long chair in front. Dog doesn't go there and cats can still see the living room. Is the placement of food (on top of the table) and litter (under table next to each other) good? Should we add more things to the room? Also they only go out of the room when dog is away, like walks.
My 20 week old cat likes to pee in the same spot at the bottom of the stairs. He has 2 litter trays one upstairs and one at the bottom of the stairs. He used to pee at the bottom of the stairs hence a 2nd tray downstairs. However, if he poos in the tray downstairs he will then wee on the floor next to the tray. Or sometimes pees if there is no wee/poos in there at all. Running out of options please help!
So I took in a stray that is at least five years old and has rather obviously had it rough. I am keeping him segregated and also set up a cat condo for him in said room, which he tends to stay in, sleeping (the condo, I mean). I bought him this nice, plush self warming bed that he is absolutely rejecting. Seriously, he'd rather sleep on bare floor than this bed. But he'll rub on it and lean against it to sleep. Why does my guy hate his bed? *note, I have provided him with soft blankets he loves.
I have a 2 year old healthy long hair, indoor-only grey/blue neutered male cat. What is the very best food I can buy for him considering muscle health, urinary health, hairballs, and longevity? A combination of foods? Do you have a recommendation for water and litter also?
My cat is super active at night for a few days, she keeps scratching the sofa and running around. She is spayed. We have two scratching cardboards and a cat tree for her. We just moved to a new apartment for 3 weeks and she seems accommodating quite well for the new environment.
Adopted 3mo kitten use to paper pellet litter. Always uses litter box. I'm trying to find non dusty, I live in single wide trailer, clumping and unscented. What do you suggest I try?
I asked 2 weeks ago about my daughters' male non neutered cat which I have for a year. He periodically urinates outside of litter box.I have 2 in house on 2 floors, very clean and scraped. He get lots of attention, love and playtime if he is in mood. Took to vet last fall and treated for bladder infection. I can't afford vet and my husband wants to find him new home. Daughter never had any problem with him. Furniture mostly covered drop cloths. He hit couch this morning and I cleaned up. Help!!
How can I get my cat to like her cat tree? She doesn’t respond to catnip and I can’t buy feliway. Is there something I could do?
I have about 75 cats(joke), nine inside. I know... all neutered. one outside 99%-neutered. Steven, out, comes in only bad weather cause Bruce, bully, and Charlotte, bully, all want to jump him. problem, I think is territory. Bruce pees in my room CONSTANTLY. idiot Charlotte pees DIRECTLY on my pine paneling...LIKE A BOY!!! I put that cat per remover stuff out constantly. they are rotting my bedroom floor and the ammonia smell is like toxic fumes. please help me
