The description on the website says there are peas in the ingredients but no mention of "pea protein". If you look at the photo listing of the ingredients it shows "pea protein". Can you confirm whether or not this product has "pea protein". Thanks!

  1. I buy this and I can see actual whole peas mixed in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats already loved this brand. I like the ingredients, it doesn't contain a lot of fillers. All of the cats come running when I pop the top, lol.

I have four cats and all of them normally inhale any type of wet food. Bought a few cans of this to try with one who has food sensitivities/IBD. He ate about half his first meal and wouldn't touch it after that. Offered it to the other three cats to use it up, and two of them also won't eat it. That's a 75% failure rate. Something is wrong with this formula.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good but formula change makes it difficult

My cat started eating this food in February and he did really well on it. I read about the formula change but was unsure which formula he had been eating. On August 22nd I opened a can and it was clearly different. So I realized he had been eating the old formula up until that point. I was hesitant to give him the new formula as he has IBD, but I didn't have any old cans to use to transition so I just gave it to him. He did really well with no IBD symptoms. Then on Sept 6th we received a new shipment and I realized it was the old formula. He had tolerated both so I just fed it to him. Next day he started having diarrhea. I plan to keep him only on the new formula and return the cans of the old formula but it will be a struggle to ensure that we have access to the new formula as the stock of the old formula is still circulating.

Limited Ingredient Turkey (WITHOUT Clay or Fish Oil) - Please get rid of the fish oil and clay ingredients. Is it revenue thats an issue that you would change ingredients? Please don't. Increase the price if you need but keep the older recipe. KEEP THE OLDER RECIPE. Many of us have cats that LOVE your long standing limited ingredient turkey wet food.

New recipe is awful

My cat has IBS and this was the only food that agreed with him until you decided to change the recipe. Now he won’t touch it. It did have a nice light color and actually smelled like turkey and now it’s a dark color and smells like typical cat food. It also looks like there is less in the can. Quality went down and price stays the same. Back to the drawing board to find another food. So disappointed.

My one cat has IBS and this was the only food that did not affect him until now- the new recipe is terrible and he won't touch it. It's very difficult to have to find new food that my cat will eat and that will not affect him. So aggravating.

Used to be 5 stars but not anymore

I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and have been purchasing this specific food for many years as well! It was a go to for my adult cats and helped them into their super senior years (14 and 22 years old now). The past few times I have purchased Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Real Turkey Recipe Grain-Free Pate Wet Cat Food I noticed the food was very different in color and consistency. The food used to be a pale pink/white color, like actual turkey, and it was a thick/dense textured food that would hold it's shape when scooped or cut out of the can. The cans were also always full. This "new" food is a darker brown and is very wet and loose. The food also only fills the can a little over 3/4ths of the way and immediately loses shape when taken out of the can. This foods color and consistency doesn't even resemble anything like the turkey it used to be! The "old" food would satisfy my cat Mischa and she wouldn't beg for food outside of her normal meal times. This is no longer true. The vet and I also noticed she starting losing weight and the only change was this food looking and being different than it was previously. (We checked her bloodwork and got a checkup and nothing has changed since her previous labs/checkup.) We had to start supplementing her meals on instinct turkey days with some additional dry food to make up for what is missing in the cans. I decided to measure the amount of food in the cans over several days and found that there is on average only 5.4oz of food in each can, with not one can having more than 5.43 oz of food in it. So, you are providing less food overall and the food you do give is very wet and loose. You have changed the recipe making the food seemingly lower quality, and of a questionable source (why so dark and oddly textured), added way more water/liquid, and have skimmed food out of the cans! What gives?! I also can't find the new evaluations for the makeup of these foods. I have to be very careful about my cats diets so this change isn't minor for us as Mischa has several medical issues making food selection very important. I'm so very disappointed in these changes and a response, outside of you can get a refund, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

My cat loves this wet cat food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat loves to eat Turkey meat wet food and this is another one I can add to the list. The texture was easy for my cat to chew and digest. I really like that the can is easy to pop open. My cat was really intrigued by the scent and all I care about is my cat liking the food.
