Might kill your fish, might not. Good luck.

It smells like mint and tea tree oil. It looks like it's just essential oil with a mild emulsifier so it can mix with the water. I put the recommended dosage in my betta's tank to help with a scrape and fin damage and now he's hiding at the bottom of his tank and only coming up for air very rarely. I assume this is because this oil is irritating his labyrinth organ. I'm going to try and return this stuff, if not it's going in the garbage. Giving essential oils to a fish is about the most insane thing I've ever seen.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This killed all my snails, it helped my fish but remove your snails before using. There's no disclaimer on it not being good for snails. I would not recommend it

Affected my fish

I have an established tank and after adding the right dose of this (I've gone over it and over it) my 2 Black Moors started acting completely off. They sat at the bottom of the tank with their fins down looking pathetic. They also developed an ashy color and started flashing when they had to move during feeding time. I did an 80% water change to get it out. They sat at the bottom for 2 days. I added salt and made a "tea" out of Indian Almond leaves and they are coming around now. This stuff scares me now.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This stuff helped my angels in 2 days with signs of improvement in just 12 hours! For the lady who said it didn’t help with ich, that’s because that is a parasite and not bacterial.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Pros and cons

I like this product. It can treat just about any bacterial and fungi infection. It is very potent. However, you do have to undergo a 40% water change every use after the first use. That can be a bit of chore if you are treating a 55 gallon tank. It is better to use if your a seasoned aquarium owner. But you know, it works.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

why has my 20 gallon tank started to smell skunky after the first dose of artemiss. I had removed the carbon filter but thought replaced it when I noticed the smell.

  1. It is not the Artemis, you need to do a water change and check your water parameters. I use Artemis and Herbatana all the time and it never changes the water smell or quality. I have four tanks and 200 gallons of water so I think it must be something else going on.

I have a 2.5 gallon tank  what’s the dosage for that size tank

  1. Thanks for the question. Add 1/2 mL per your 2.5 Gallon aquarium daily for a total of 10 days. If the signs of the bacterial / fungal infection remain on your fish, you can continue to treat for an additional 7 days (I do recommend a 25% water change after the initial 10 day treatment). I hope this is of benefit.

Can I use this with my seeded 2 month old carbon filter still in while using treatment so my new aquarium doesn't crash and if so do I adjust the dosage or time period? Thanks.

  1. The activated carbon is going to absorb the chemicals in the treatment. However, you can use both treatments alternating one another for the duration of each dosage. If you are going to use both for how long, use Microb-lift/Artemis/Microb-lift/Artemis after the other not simultaneously... Continue running the filter with the mechanical stages but remove carbon and zeolites.

Can this product be used if I just treated my water with Seachem Stability?

  1. It is recommended that no other products be used while treating with Artemiss (and Herbtana). These are 10-day treatments. You should finish the entire treatment before using any other treatment. Also, remove carbon and turn off UV during treatment. Artemiss is used for bacterial and fungal disease, while Herbtana is used to parasitic disease. Artemiss also helps greatly with healing. As to safety with these products, even though they are herbal, you still need to follow the directions and not guess at how much to use.

Do you add this product to conditioned water? I use either seachem prime or API stress coat plus

  1. Yes, you can use Artemiss with conditioned water, just not with other disease treatment products other than Microbe Lift Herbtana.

Is it normal for the product to sit on top of the water if my tank? I have a filters so it gets moved around but it seems to sit on top a lot.

  1. The plant extracts used in Artemiss are less dense than water, so they tend to float to the surface. With good water movement they should keep circulating through the aquarium. Make sure to shake the Artemiss well before dosing.

I have just started using Artemis for my beta. I have a 10 gallon tank. So how much of this can I use. Also do I do a water change each time I treat? I going to treat for 10days.

  1. For a 10 gallon tank you add 2 mL every day. Make sure you shake the Artemiss very well before adding it to the tank. As long as the water parameters are good there is no need to do water changes. If for some reason you do need to perform a water change you can do so right before the next dosage is due.

Currently treating with Ich-X. Is this safe to use with it? If not, how much water change for 75g? Also, can Artemiss be used with Herbtana and Special blend? Does this negatively impact BB?

  1. Do not use Artemiss with Ich=X. Perform a 25% water change before you use the Artemiss. Artemiss can be used with Special Blend and Herbtana. Dose the Artemiss and Herbtana 12 hours apart. It will not harm the Beneficial Bcteria.

How much of this do you add if you have a gallon tank?

  1. For a 1 gallon tank you add 0.2 mL to the tank daily fallowing the directions. Please make sure you shake the bottle well before using.

I had been treating tank with melafix a week ago. Do I need to do a water change before adding artemiss

  1. Yes
