What type of bed would you suggest for my miniature dachshund? She is 3 1/2 months old. She gets cold easily & sleeps w/ me in my bed. She always loves cuddling with me whever I am if on the couch resting, etc. I always have a small blanket & she loves for me to cover her up totally.. She crawls under it & goes to sleep!

I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. He is 14y/o, and will be crated for 6-8 hours 5 days a week for a few weeks, until he gets used to the area. Of course he'll be inside the house, and let out in the evenings and sometimes for a bit on lunchtime.
I have a dog house with carpet over front entrance and a heated pet pad I bought from a hardware store. It seems warm and the 8 month old beagle goes in it but how cold is to cold for a four hour length outside while I work? He seems happy and the pad feels warm when I test it.
