Axolotls are a type of salamander native to two lakes in present day Mexico City, Mexico, and named after Xolotl, the dog-headed Aztec god of fire and lighting. Axolotls remain in the larval form their entire lives, resulting in external gills even as an adult. This condition is known as neoteny and is relatively rare in the animal kingdom. Axolotls will spend most of their time on the bottom of the aquarium, but water levels should remain below 18" to allow easy access to the surface, and be sure to have a secure lid to prevent escape.

ACCLIMATION: Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. For new aquariums, adding new fish slowly helps to properly develop the nitrogen cycle, which creates a safe environment for your aquatic pets. A bacteria booster may also help develop a new aquarium for your new fish. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried, and frozen food, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller, unfiltered aquariums.

What morph is my leopard gecko?
leopard gecko has a hard lump above an arm
My luestic sugar glider I got 2 months ago is creame color and the person said that he will be back to white when he is back to health? He is supposed to be luestic/white and while I’ve had him his bald spot got bigger and bigger ‘What’s wrong with him?he also lost his twin brother before he was rehomes to me
I have an axolotl. He ate a rock 2 days ago now. He's not swimming that much he stays in the bottom walking. Also, he is like 3-4 months max. I really don't know how to work out with this. I've watched a lot of videos to see if I can do it myself but I'm really scared that I do something wrong and he dies.
This might sound reaaaally dumb, but I'm very new to axolotls so... hehe. Are all of them (more or less) the same size when they're fully grown? Or can one be 15cm and other one 10 (for example)?
I recently purchased a leopard gecko, he is albino. He has not been eating and at first I thought it was the stress of moving into a new cage, but I think he is blind and he will not eat. He is noticeably losing small amounts of weight and he is by my best guess only a couple weeks old. I have tried crickets and meal worms in his tank (the crickets only for a short period of time because they can bite) and I also tried to hand feed him meal worms.
My albino western hognose snake's vent is swollen on the tail end, pink, has a tiny bit of blood and it smells off.
My ball python has always has a light blue/ gray hue in good ligting. Is he a different breed then I thought? Or is there something wrong with his scales? Anything you can tell me would be helpful, thank you
I keep axolotl and am having a continuous fungus problem, my water tests are great. I can provide the parameters if I actually speak with someone. It’s been a period of a few months and the fungus keeps coming back. This is just one of them 3 out of 4 have gotten it.
My axolotl isnt eating. Im going on day three of my axolotls food strike. I have a juvenile axolotl. The nitrite levels are low, the water flow is very low and the water level is between 63-65 degrees. I dont know what to do?
When I bought my white tree frog from Petsmart it had what looks like an old scar on his leg (see attached picture). So far he has been acting as normal as my other white tree frog, other than being a little shy and better at hiding. I've had him for over a week now, should I warrant concern? (And what is something I can do if there is.)
I have a red ear slider baby turtle and a light patch is on his foot is he ok
