My cat only likes toys with some type of string but then he chews thru them and won’t play with them anymore. What type of toys would be best?

I am stressed out I know it’s just a animal but I didn’t know she would be such a handful the other two cats I had weren’t as bad. Aquiline is an inside cat although we try to have supervise outdoor leashtime we have found that his mesh harness what does what we were originally recommended stretches too much and he can rather easily slip out of it and get free he did this yesterday on our way back from the pet store to get him new toys. How do I make a kitten understand how a Kong toy works? I've already tried spraying it with catnip so that she plays with it and understands that when she moves it, treats fall out of it. But she seems not to be atracted to catnip yet as she's still too young. Any tips? Thank you!
