Picky guinea pig but definitely if it wasn't spoil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The nutritional value gives almost everything a guinea pig needs, but fruits. The ingredients aren't stuffed with alot of preservatives. So the freshness of the bag is good for a certain time just like dog food. The texture is what you would think it feels like.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have previously used a different brand of guinea pig food and was excited to get this brand to try. It’s a great, simple food that is perfect for my piggies. They aren’t picky, but the Kaytee brand seems to be an excellent, go to brand for small pets. This product proves to be no exception. I’ll happily purchase these pellets for my piggies in the future. .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lil guy loves this stuff. I noticed when I first started mixing this new food with the old food and he would pick the new stuff out. Easy to seal packaging and for the amount it’s a good value for what I see it go for in the stores. I did receive a sample in exchange for an honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My pets love this food! When opening it, it smelled much fresher than other brands that smell more dusty. The ingredients and the nutrition in the food make me feel good about feeding this to my fur babies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A nice portion of pellets. I use to supplement my bunnies, they are being weaned so I mix these with baby bunny pellets which has more alfalfa and no added vitamin c. The package is nice and ziplocks closed

How long does this feed a single piggie? I am a New Guinea owner and want to know how long this would last her thank you

  1. They only get one scoop a day, using a ground coffee scoop (about 2 Tablespoons), so a bag lasts me a couple months.

how long does this bag of food normally last for 1 guinea pig?

  1. Care & Feeding Instructions: When introducing a guinea pig to a new food, begin with a mixture of the old and new foods, gradually increasing the amount of the new food over a 7 to 10 day period. This will prevent digestive upsets as well as allowing your pet to adjust to something new. The following feeding amounts can be used as a starting point and should be adjusted to maintain a guinea pig's proper weight. The portions shown below are for one guinea pig. Adjust the amount if additional guinea pigs are fed. Feeding Amount: 2 Tbsp. Other Keys to keeping a healthy guinea pig. Keeping clean water is an essential component of a good pet care program. Clean cage at least weekly. Storage Instructions: For maximum freshness, store in a cool, dry location. Reseal between each use. Refrigerate or freeze for extended storage.

Does this count as pellets for my guinea pig?

  1. Guinea Pigs need Timothy Hay based pellets as well as regular Timothy Hay. Both should be available 24/7. Also, make sure they always have fresh water available.

I have two New Guinea pigs and still introducing different vegetables, but I wanted to know if this food had enough vitamin C for the piggies each day? Or how much vitamin c is supplemented in the food?

  1. It is always a good idea to add supplemental Vitamin C to a guinea pig's diet. The Vitamin C in the food pellets will degrade over time and will not be as potent as something given fresh (Sorry, Kaytee!) I give my guinea pigs fresh parsley every morning. They love it! I also give them a section of a fresh orange or tangerine every few days as a special treat when they are out in their run. (To keep the parsley from wilting, wash it when you bring it home from the store and shake off the excess water. Fill a coffee mug with water within 1" of the top and then put the stems of the parsley into the cup. Place the plastic bag the parsley came in, over the parsley and cup but don't tie it or try to keep it air tight. Then put the cup (with the bag over the top) in your refrigerator. Smell the parsley every day before feeding some of it to your piggies. If it smells "sour", then rinse it before you give it to them, shaking off the excess water before feeding, and then dump out the water in the cup and rinse the rest of the parsley again and repeat the filling of the cup, putting the stems in the cup and covering everything with the plastic bag. I've kept fresh parsley for a week using this process. Although, my bunches rarely last that long because my piggies just love the stuff!)

how often do you feed a guinea pig

  1. They should always have hay and guinea pig food in a bowl available at all times EVERY DAY. They should have fresh water as well. You can feed them fresh vegetables as a treat a few times a week. But they are nibblers and must have hay at all times or their teeth will grow too long. They also can not store vitamin C in their bodies and you must provide guinea pig food so that they get that every day.

do i have to still buy hay

  1. Yes, because they need to chew on the hay to keep their teeth from getting too long.

How long does each bag last for 2 guinea pigs?

  1. One 5lb bag should last two guinea pigs a couple weeks.
