Bella loves it!

My 6lb Bella needed a lower protein diet. Found JFFD online, Vet said it was a great choice. Bella bet excited when I’m fixing her bowl and gobbles it up. She’ll eat it cold or warmed up.

My dogs love this food but they need more size & non legume options

Taylor W.

I really like this brand but I have 4 dogs and they only offer 1 size of container so I go through multiple containers a day. The opening is also small so I inevitably get dog food on my hands while I’m scooping out food to measure. I wish they had a larger size with a wider opening so I can easily scoop to measure out portions for each dog. I also would love more food options that don’t have legumes in them. I know they say it’s fine “in moderation” but how is eating this food twice a day “in moderation”? It makes me uncomfortable ordering anything potentially dangerous so I only order the food that has no legumes in it. I’d gladly order other options if they changed the recipes

Our Daisy loves this dog food, she lets us know all the time when it’s time to eat, and gets very excited when she sees us pull one of the boxes out of the cabinet. It suits her digestion very well, and she is as healthy as ever!

Loves beef/potato but not chicken rice

Howard G.

He’ll eagerly goes for the beef potato and will wait until he’s absolutely starving before finally eating the chicken, so for that reason I have to switch out the chicken I’ve ordered for the subscription with something else but most likely beef/potato.

Hospice Pup Deserves the Best!

Karen Q.

I have been adopting senior & hospice pups for 12 years and recently adopted hospice pup Jasper. Jasper is 12 yo and had a cancerous mass removed recently but the prognosis is poor. Also, Jasper is unable to see clearly and hears very little. But he is safe and so very loved in our home. We will give him the best quality of life no matter what that time frame is. That includes maintaining a healthy diet with Pantry Fresh Chicken & White Rice which we learned was the food the rescue, Muttville, feeds the rescue pups. the food comes in convenient packaging, is fresh and looks delicious which Jasper confirms as he happily eats up his daily serving always wanting more. The food was delivered expediently after a simple ordering process online which also offered a 50% discount on our first order! We are grateful to have discovered Just Food For Dogs and will continue to feed our senior/hospice pups the best.

Questions

Is this food good for small dogs (age 15) with diabetes? I was giving my dog diet food & believe he’s tired of it. I wanted to try something new & came across this.  Thank you!

  1. Yes, my dog loved it

How easy is it to get all the food from the container? Does it tear open or do you need to cut it open?

  1. The cartoon has a perforation so it’s easy to open. I was able to get all the food out of the carton without wasting any.

Can I get a sample to see if dogs will eat?

Is this ok for a puppy ..

Is this good to start a puppy on?

How Long Does the Ready to Eat Box last in the pantry, or the fridge? Trying to plan on stocking up during a sale since I have less room in the freezer.

        1. The Pantry Fresh products do not require freezing, they are packed and sealed for freshness and the use-by dates are about a year out from the time I have bought them. After opening one, I get about 4 days of refrigeration before they start to smell and look off. They are only about 12 oz, so they really shouldn't last that long anyway, depending on the size of your dog and how much you are feeding him. My dog is a ~5lb Yorkie, and I feed her JustFoodFOrDogs Pantry Fresh products twice a day (once in morning and once in evening). To maintain her healthy weight, I only need to feed her about 1 heaping tablespoon at each feeding, or a little more. I make up the rest of her diet in fresh foods I give her and dog treats between these 2 meals. This results in one 12oz pack lasting about the 3-4 days mark, at which period I smell and look at the last serving to make sure it is still fresh enough to feed her, and it almost always has been, though once or twice it was slightly discolored and once it smelled a bit off and made my dog throwup. But that was likely due to my fridge not maintaining its temperature very well. I bought about 10 months worth of the Pantry Fresh products and they keep very well in their sealed cartons, unless they are punctured, in which case you should throw them out, as they probably aren't safe for consumption.

Very confused by serving size? 1/2 (6.25oz) a box per 10bs? Or 8oz per 10lb? Feeding guide is not clear. Is this dehydrated food? Or fresh food? Any clarification would be great, thanks.

        1. This is wet-packed food, cooked freash and sealed in cartons. It is sealed to prevent spoilage, but once opened, it will need refridgeration and will last only a few (3-4) days in my fridge. As for the serving size, every dog is different and each has it's own needs. Depending on how much other food and treats you provide your animals, it will change the feeding requirements with this food. A very little change can make the difference between maintaining your dogs wieght or gaining/losing wieght. ball-park it, and then adjust to your dog's needs over time, as you see the results. My ~5lb yorkie is fed 1 heaping tablespoon twice a day, with fresh foods and treats between meals. When I gave her1.25-1.5 tablespoons, she started gaining wieght somewhat quickly, so I trimmed it back a ways. I could tell by her behavior if I was giving too little, she would sit next to the feeding area for long periods, so I adjusted up a tad to the about 1 heaping tablespoon I mentioned. THis is rich, good calorie food, so it requires a little more precision than empty dry dog foods.

How many servings is one box??

        1. Barbed1951 - what is the DIY kit? I make all our dogs food (three XL dogs) and Really am looking for alternatives/help
