Is as simple as home, for the Jurassic Natural Australian Desert Habitat Sand, I used this sand for my bearded dragon, who is 100% Native to Australia 🇦🇺. He absolutely loves it.

Item is not as described. It is not 2x2x4, the front solid panel is about 7" tall. We used for loose substrate and the bottom bowed with the weight. Item will suffice as returning is too much of a hassle. Please update the description with honest dimensions

Despite all the bad rap about how sand is bad for your bearded dragons, I went ahead and purchased this product. My bearded dragon loves it and loves digging in the sand. Also my bearded dragon doesn’t show any signs of impaction or having the need to eat the sand. A great buy I must say. Just brining my beardie back with its natural habitat.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good Sand, just not much of it

This is good sand, and I like the fact that it is very natural to the beardies environment. It is a softer sand, and seems to hold heat well, which is good for beardies. My only complaint is that for the cost, I didn't get nearly as much sand as I thought I would. I have a 40gal enclosure, and this barely covered half of it. And it was the big bag. So, it is a good sand, but consider less expensive alternatives or perhaps mixing it with some other cheaper sand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

this is the only sand i buy for my dragons . its just like their natural habitat. they seem to do really well with it and it absorbs their fecies decently. its expensive but i really dont trust any other sand but this one for my beardie tanks.

Yes, I recommend this product.

How many bags will i need to fill 4x2x2 ft 120 gallon tank? preferably 4 inches of sand depth

  1. I used 2 20lb and 1 10 lb and that was perfect!

Is this safe for scorpions such as Scorpio maurus? Is it also safe to mix with other substrates for Mexican Black Kingsnake and Hognose?

Will a ten pound bag fill the bottom of a 40 gallon tank

    1. No. 2 is minimum for a 40. 3 is ideal so dragon can dig.

Is this safe with leopard gecko? Ty

    1. I use it with my leopard gecko and have had no issues.

How big of a terrarium do the 10lb and 20lb bags cover?

    1. To give a good depth of at least 3” derp with a 40 gal I used 4.  If I was just to give an inch for 40 gal I’d use 1 1/2 bags

Is this soil or sand? Or a mix of both?

    1. Its a rocky/sandy soil

    Is this real Australian sand

    1. Yes it is. It is collected in the outback in Australia.

Does it create much dust? The substrate we have now is dark and very dusty.

    1. No dust. If you must it lightly the surface gets crusty. My Dragons like that.
