External care: Use a soft cloth and ammonia-free glass cleaner to keep outside of aquarium clean. Replace filter media every 2-4 weeks. Internal care: Change 10-25% of aquarium water every 2-4 weeks, or as needed. Scrub aquarium wall with appropriate glass scrubber to reduce algae growth. Evaporation is common. Ensure water level is maintained.

I bought this 4 months ago for a goldfish I won at the fair. This was my first aquarium and my goldfish from that carnival is still thriving. Easy to maintain and filter gets changed once a month. I did buy an additional filter that I only use 1 a month for algea outbreaks but so happy with this purchase

The Imagitarium 29-Gallon Tank is an excellent choice overall. The flat, sleek cover adds a modern touch, and the tank itself is beautifully clear with well-done silicone seams, giving it a polished appearance. My only drawback is the included hang-on-back (HOB) filter. While it does a great job filtering, it produces a noticeable noise despite proper setup and care to avoid running it dry. Because of this, I’d rate the kit 4.5/5. Still, it’s a fantastic tank that I would recommend! $75 for a 29 gallon kit is unreal.

I bought 2 of the 29 gal. at 39.99 Black Friday special. I bought online and picked up in store. The staff were very helpful, 2 guys loaded them up for me. I got them home and was impressed how well boxed they were. Definitely if you’re having them shipped they’d be just fine. I’ve set up both 29 gal, and ZERO problems. The dimensions are different than other brands, so you can’t use different hoods with it, or double check the measurements of where you’re putting it. The light is okay it’s bright or blue but not a deal breaker, other brands have the same thing, I actually added a 24 hr light to both. Doesn’t startle my fish. I was skeptical on buying a brand I wasn’t familiar with but it’s been 3 weeks and they’re both going strong. I recommend this product. I can’t wait for next Black Friday!

just set up this kit a few days ago and after four days the white lights on the hood stopped working . reached out for help and was told to bring back the whole aquarium kit back, yea right great help for replacement. that warranty is very unacceptable when you have fish, live plants and forty lbs. of substrate in the tank already. Called corporate and was told the same thing but they would be happy to order a new hood at my expense. thanks for nothing Petco store and corporate!! next step is to reach out Imaginarium for any help .

Amazing deal at 39

I bought these on sale for 39 each. I had them shipped to my house, which is sketchy and I regret it, plus they ship with ontrac which is even sketchier. I've had them set up for about 26 hours outside, with empty filters and heaters running. The silicone is not great in a few places, which is why I'm testing them outside. One is much more bowed than the other. One has a filter that leaks at full power. The lid is sturdy but the light is terrible. Having said all that, they were 39 each, insane deal for everything you get. I wouldn't pay 79, definitely not the "full retail" price, but at 39, I'm happy with them, and after this test they're only going to be about 2/3 full anyway. Definitely won't have an aquarium shipped again, at least not something like this.

Can I use this kit for a saltwater setup? I'm specifically worried about the coconut carbon filter cartridges and the box says it's for freshwater specifically.

    It’s a glass aquarium suitable for salt. If you are doing saltwater fish then the lighting is fine but I doubt even the least light required corals. I would not worry about the filter as you can just toss the filter pad and replace with some filter floss and some carbon in a little bag to keep down the smell. Be aware Saltwater is very expensive compared to fresh or a Chiclid tank I have all three types. But then again it’s like comparing Lotus to Chevy. Nice but pricey.
