I did a review a few days ago and Hills was wondering if I did a transition period. I did take eight days to transition them over. My three cats still refused to eat it.

I have three cats and none of them will eat this. One got desperate and ate some, but I ended up donating the entire 7 lb. bag to the humane society. I tried hand feeding them, mixing it with their old food, grinding it up so the bites were smaller, and none of them were interested.

We appreciate your feedback. We could not tell by your post if you had done a gradual transition or not. We generally suggest doing a 7-day transition, as this allows them time to get used to the new flavor and ingredients. This can also help ward off against any sort of tummy trouble.

Great food with great results. Our senior cats have been on this for years after bladder crystals and blockage nearly killed our male cat. Now they are on a different science diet (prescription) food and our young adult cats are on this food.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Life of this food

Why is this kibble so big?  My cats aren’t used to the large pieces and have started choking. Looks like dog food.

    1. We are disappointed to hear of your experience. Please know we have a team of veterinarians and pet nutritionist who work very hard at making sure our pet foods are nutritionally balanced, fresh and safe to feed to pets everywhere. We would like to get more information about this. When you get a moment, please give us a call at 1-800-445-5777 (M-F 8-5 CST) and share ticket # 1954159 with the representative you speak with. Both of my cats are 15 years old and am wondering if this is good for them.  However, my one cat is allergic to fish and they both need food that is easier to digest.

    1. My cat is 14-1/2 years old, and he had an episode of “crystals” about 7 years ago.  I feed him both the dry and wet formula.  He loves them both and it keeps his hairballs under control; just an occasional hairball.  This formula is for urinary and hairball issues; I’m not sure whether it’s easier to digest.   My cat does not have trouble digesting it.

Hi, I have used this for years but this last bag I bought my cats just do not like. The food looks the same & does not smell bad but I have never thrown out so much food. Could it be just a bad batch? They have been eating on it about 2-3 weeks. Exchange

    1. Sorry you’re having this issue— no problems on my end with the food. *knock on wood* If you’ve had it two to three weeks, any chance the bag was left a little open and got stale? I’d definitely try a new bag if they’ve been eating it so long. Good luck!

I'm trying to decide between the urinary hairball dry food, and the regular hairball dry food for my senior cats. One is long-haired male and needs the hairball control, but my female can have a sensitive stomach at times. They eat the same food.

    1. Both of my cats are senior also. Here's what I do: I buy the Urinary hairball and sensitive stomach and mix them together. I also add the Oral care to keep their teeth healthy. They have never turned their noses up to these. This way I address all of their problems (in my mind)!
