Better Product and Convenience

I have fed My 2 Labs and My 2 Golden retrievers this product for over the past 30 years. And continuing with my current Golden Retriever. My son has also fed his 2 Yellow Labs. The dogs lived a healthy 13 years each. The products have much more nutrients and vitamins than other dog foods. Lots of people feed their dogs Purina One because they can get it at the grocery store which is convenient for them. Most of the grocery stores have a Pet store nearby and you can accumulate points which can be used as money towards your purchase. So you end up paying just about the same price for a better product. I also like the convenience of being able to order in the morning when I realize I am running out and having it delivered by the time I get home from work, so I don't have to go out of my way on the way home from work and it is there to feed my dog when I get home.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My Great Dane turned her nose up at the “light” food. Petco replaced the opened bag no questions asked. Great customer service.

We appreciate your feedback. We could not tell by your post if you had done a gradual transition or not. We generally suggest doing a 7-day transition, as this allows them time to get used to the new flavor and ingredients. This can also help ward off against any sort of tummy trouble. We hope this is helpful. I usually do not buy the 30 lb bag, but there was a $12 discount coupon that made it worth buying! The coupons were beneath the bag on the shelf and are good until March 2034. I will buy another bag before March . I have a big dog!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This Hill's Formula is Just What My Pet Needed ~

Andrea B. ~

My dog lost approximately 20 lbs on this formula and with the vet's help, he's maintaining the weight loss. Thank you! Comment/Recommendation: Please bring back your 15lb bag. I live in a 4th-floor walk-up apartment with no elevator and it's difficult for me to carry 30-33 lbs of dog food up 4 flights of stairs with a heavy dog in tow. The 15lb bag is easier for me to carry. I shop at the Forestville, MD store. Thanks for noting.

what are the calories per cup compared to the perfect weight line?

  1. Thank you for your question. Hill's Science Diet Adult Light Large Breed with Chicken Meal & Barley Dry Dog Food contains 271 kcals per cup. Hill's Science Diet Perfect Weight Large Breed Dry Dog Food contains 289 kcals per cup. Hill's Pet Nutrition

Is this primarily for dogs that need to lose weight? Which Adult Large Breed food would you recommend for a 1 year old healthy and active Labrador?

  1. It’s great for labs to maintain a healthy weight. My lab never felt full on other dog food and my vet recommended this one because the fillers help labs feel full. I will never switch to another type of food for my dog.

What is the difference between Light and Healthy Weight dog food?  I'm interested in both dry and canned food and not sure which to buy for my dog who needs to lose 10-15 lbs

  1. My black lab needed to lose about 15lbs, I started using this hills light adult large breed, took alitte bit of time & exercise, I also add almost half the bowl filled with water, which also help them feel full, I would also calorie count her treats or only give her half, we did reach our ideal weight, & will also continue to use hills light. To maintain. Hills science adult light large breed, dry food, I believe is the actual full name,
