My vet recommended the YD diet for my 15 yr. old cat that has hyperthyroidism. I also have 2 other cats in the house that are would be eating the same food but they do not have high thyroid. Would it be safe to feed this YD diet food to all 3 kitties?
- I'm sure it would be safe for them. YD simply has all of the iodine removed from it. Just be aware that YD food is REALLY expensive compared to other foods because of the process that is required to make it.

my cat has thyroid issues and been having problems with medication as it is now causing diarrhea for the past three months. Can she eat this food and take the medication? Is this food a replacement of meds or can both be given?

13 y/o male cat with hyperthyroidism. Need recommendation for affordable dry cat food.
Cat diagnosed hyperthyroid. Vet sold us Hills Thyroid. Full of corn and cat allergic to corn. She doesn't know iodine content of other foods. Need high protein, no grain, no fish, good taurine and low salt and iodine below .4. Can't seem to find that info. Bought Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain Free Chicken which met requirements. But it is dry and 1/3 of it is powder. Have always used Natural Balance but iodine is 2.2. Can you tell me what the iodine/salt content is in a food that will work

My 16 yr old Persian cat was recently diagnosed w/kidney disease. Doc prescribed Hill's Kidney Care. I've been trying to give the canned version for the first time ever because of dehydration. After cat fight & treated at vet with Covina, rabies, anti inflam shot, my indoor/outdoor cat recovered indoors for 3 weeks. He started going outside again in a limited way. He gained weight. About 2-3 pounds. He is getting a tummy. Pics attached. His diet (per day) is free eating Hills Science dry perfect weight chicken, 2 to 2.5 (3oz cans fancy feast, (about 1/2 can at a time when he requests) & occasionally cooked chicken meat. Hi. I have a small, 19 YO long hair female cat. She has been losing weight over the last 18 months and is currently pretty much skin and bone. She eats about 1/3 cup of dry plus 3 oz of wet food/day. She drinks about a cup of water/day and does not gain weight no matter what I feed her. I suspect she has a form of Hyperthyroidism but don't know. She in an indoor cat and weighs about 4 lbs. I'd love to know what options I might have?
