Parents are visiting with their dog who has anal gland problems. Glandex in food daily. Dog was stinky and scooting. Took him to my vet. Vet did anal gland expression. They recommended additional very expensive procedure under anesthesia. Basic anal gland expression helped for a few days. Now he's smelly. Do they need to do expensive flush version now? Would antibiotics or anything help for now while they're on vacation? Should I try a different vet?
My cat got an anal sac abscess which ruptured. I was able to spray it out pretty well with Bactine spray for the time being. I called every vet in the area and no one has availability for at least a week and I don't have the funds to go to an emergency vet. I have a sterile syringe that I plan to use to flush with chlorhexidine and/or povidone–iodine. Which would be better (or both)? Since I obviously can't get Panalog, would a triple-antibiotic be effective to apply into it afterward?
Our 4 yr old shipoo had a ruptured anal gland which was treated by our vet. She's on clavamox, metacam, and betadine for the exterior. She's wearing a cone to prevent licking. Her wound is not healing because on her walks she is trying to rub her bum on the grass before pee/poo, she's very fast when doing it. She also doesn't want to walk more than 100 yards and ten stops and sits. I've tried doing a sling around abdomin but then she goes limp and wont move. She wont pee or poo in the backyard.
How to help/clean an anal gland rupture
My dog has a penis inflammation problem and I need some type of medicine or spray
I think my dog has an anal infection. We just got her glands expressed, and she still has this horrible smell. I don’t have the money for a vet. Is there at home remedies?
Gucci has a lesion (unknown source) on flank. On antibiotic but continues to lick the area. What I apply topically to relieve the discomfort?
Panda had moderately full anal glands he was expressed by vet a month ago he is now scared of going to see vet because he has been expressed twice my vet suggested we trial glandex and if this does not work express him monthly or surgical removal of the glands both are invasive which will mean trauma to him he also scratches a lot when he needs doing how quickly will the glandex work and are there any other options that I can do he is on grain free kangaroo diet and has food allergies
Daisy has been licking and chewing her backend. I believe she busted her anal glands open for the second time. She bled pretty bad last night but using the water hose, I sprayed her off until the bleeding stopped. No longer bleeding, no noticeable pain, no fever, eating and drinking fine, seems healthy. I'm not working right now and less than $100. I don't want her to get infected. What should I do? Can someone prescribe amoxicillin for her?
Would this spray help this problem?
My dog got too excited and I think he expressed his anal glands. He smells really bad. How do I get rid of the odor? Do you recommend any products? Also, how do I prevent this from happening again?
We got my dogs anal glands cleaned back early December 2018 and now around his butt is just all red and inflamed. He’s butt scooting and he won’t stop licking when I put preparation H on it so I bought a cone but every time I take it off of him just for a few minutes he goes back to scooting and licking. What should I do?
