This is not a good addition to any animal that is fed crickets. This was recommended by the store and my bearded dragon's crickets have a nice little hide-a-way hotel to live in while he's hungry.

I'm Sorry it wasn't me that made a Purchase at Petco. I have NOT been in a Pet Store since last year when I was taking care of my Mom and her Babies! I don't know who would have used my number? I'm sure the Product is Awesome and the Staff were always very helpful, friendly and Knowledgeable!

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOUR BUYING IT FOR YOUR LEOPARD GECKO OR ANY OTHER SMALL REPTILES AND I WILL TELL YOU WHY! I HAVE A LEOPARD GECKO 8 MONTHS OLD AND I BOUGHT THIS AND MY GECKO WENT INSIDE THE HOLE AND I THOUGHT HE WAS OK AND THN A DAY IN A HALF LATER WHN HE STILL DIDNT COME OUT I KNEW HE WAS STUCK MY DAUGHTER TOOK THE WHOLE THING OUT THE CAGE TRYING TO PUSH HIM OUT WITH A PENCIL BECAUSE I FELT SO BAD AND WAS FREAK OUT EVEN WHN I LOOKED IN THE HOLE IT WAS SO DAR I COULDNT EVEN TELL IF HE WAS UPSIDE DOWN OR NOT I JUST FELT HORRIBLE FOR HIM MY DAUGHTER FINALLY GOT HIM OUT THANK GOD BUT NEVER AGAIN

I was really pleased with the size of this Cholla. My giant hermit crab really likes to climb is and my smaller Hermie likes to be burrowed under the base ... they both seem to like this and have, at least for the time being moved to the Cholla and away from their usual large piece of cork bark. We changed things up ... glad to see them enjoy the Cholla.

Is it safe for hermit crabs? I have 2 hermit crabs and I don't want them to get stuck .

Is this safe for gerbils and or hamsters?

Yes actually! These are especially great for gerbils, they are more active with climbing and running on things. There's a youtube channel called Fins & Whiskers, she has three gerbils and you can see the cholla wood in the cage.
