For best results, do not mix with non-clumping cat litter. For first time use, start with an empty, clean cat litter box. Fill your clean litter box with 3 to 4 inches of Fresh Step Lightweight Simply Unscented Cat Litter. Remove clumps and solids daily and dispose in trash. Do not flush. The rest of the litter stays fresh. Add more litter to refresh your litter box each time you scoop. Maintain level of litter at 3 to 4 inches.
As a reminder, especially to pregnant women and immunosuppressed persons, cat feces can sometimes transmit a disease called toxoplasmosis. Therefore, always remember to wash hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter. For further information, consult your doctor. Unused cat litter poses no toxoplasmosis threat. Caution: Do not use this product as a traction aid because product becomes slippery and slick when wet.

Does this last as long as the “regular” 25 lb box?
- Can't answer that question as I have been using the light for about 10 years now. I am very happy with it. It clumps great and I can't handle the heavy regular litter. It clumps better than any other light litter that I tried 10 yrs ago.

I have allergies. Just how low is the "low dust"? I don't see any mention of the dust level in the reviews.
- definitely lots of dust when you pour it. The best dust free one I've found is from Oko, the paper pellet litter (no dust!) Bonus if your cat tracks litter, this one is soft to step on instead of little pokey murder pellets (doesn't track more than any other litter, probably less)

Does this stick to their paws like some of the other lightweight litters do?
- Hello, Rosemary. Thank you for reaching out to us. While we wouldn't expect for any of our Fresh Step products to stick to your kitties paws, we would love to share a few tips with you. To prevent the litter from sticking, there are several ways to dislodge dried litter from in between a cat's paw pads. Our consulting veterinarian advises moistening the litter with warm water, and working out the litter with a damp washcloth, and use your fingers. Also, it may be helpful to gently use a cotton swab coated with petroleum jelly or small clippers. A brush or comb may be helpful in removing litter from a cat's fur. I put him in the litter box and he sniffed it and jumped out. What should I do now? He has been going potty in the shower, should I put the litter box in the shower?
