Sand impactions can occur when a horse ingests sand or soil particles accidentally or intentionally. The excess sand may congregate in the horse's intestinal tract and can obstruct your horse's colon. This condition-called sand colic-can be excruciating and dangerous for your horse. The incidence of sand colic is often limited to horses in sandy areas or regions, but horses can have bouts of sand colic regardless of where they live and even if they're grazing on pastures. Sand and dirt hide in unexpected places like hay bales, grass pastures, and your horse. Help protect your horse from sand colic with SandClear Natural Psyllium Crumbles. Sand Clear for horses contains a premium psyllium seed husk to support the removal of sand and dirt from the ventral colon. Ideal for horses that graze or eat off the ground, this supplementary dietary fiber is recommended by a veterinarian to help maintain a healthy digestive tract for horses of all ages, including foals.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy the ingredients list on this product! And for our field horses it works perfectly to know that they have the extra they need to get rid and break down the sand and dirt that they get while out there eating. The product smells like a fresh cut apple to me and the horses seemed to enjoy the taste.

Easy to feed....

This is easy to feed and highly palatable. Great alternative to the bran and oil method that some horses won't eat. Just mix it in with your horses regular grain. Comes in a tight sealing container to keep ingredients dry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of my horses was having a hard time keeping weight on. I purchased this Sandclear Natural Psyllium Crumbles and it has helped her keep her weight on. It's good for them and helps to reduce the risk of sand colic, contains Psyllium seed husk. It absorbs water in the intestines and forms a gel like substance which increases bulk, softens stools and helps remove sand from the ventral colon. It's apple and molasses flavored which my horse's love. It comes in a 3lb bucket.

Works well for colicky horses

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an owner of 4 horses, I know how important it is to keep a good eye on your horses and make sure they are healthy. One of ours recently became colicky and upon some research I realized that it could be cause from them eating off the ground and they could be ingesting the sand and dirt off the ground. The recommended amount is to mix 1 to 2 cups with their daily grain ration for at least a full week once a month. So 7 days out of the month. I noticed a difference in my colicky horse right away and was very pleased with this product. Would absolutely recommend.

It Works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Because my mare is in a paddock with screenings, my vet took a fecal sample to test for gravel in the manure. My vet recommended that I mix SandClear Psyllium Crumbles one week out of every month to prevent accumulation. My horse is a picky eater, but she finished her feed with the SandClear. We have had no colic episodes, and I will continue to use this product.

Great sand clear product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in an area that is sandy and I am always worried that the horses will have sand colic. I tried Farnam Sand Clear and love the ease of using it. The horses eat it up and no sorting through the feed. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone as a sand colic prevention plan.
