SO i am thinking about getting a leopard gecko, but i am not spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cage so i am using a plastic laundrey hamper that seems about maybe 10 gallons and i am setting up little hiddy spots and stuff but i dont know wha tbeedding i should use and how much light they need please hep :)
Is this a good setup for Nighthawk, the first photo is the over all setup, the second one is the side view and the third is the water and calcium dishes. I use an under tank heater that stays at about 88 degrees Fahrenheit and the vines are fake. He has a warm hide and a cold hide with moss in it that’s i spray down every other day. The little box is another little hide that I can see him in. And the background is tile it paper rolls that were painted(they were left to dry for two weeks)
I got a northern blue tongued skink baby. I am a first time owner and super excited, so I wanted to set up the cage and make sure everything is good to go when the little guy gets here. The problem is, the tank gets really humid at night (70 to 80%)though it's perfect during the day (25 to 30%). I don't know what to do. I know changes at night are healthy but I couldnt find out if that was still too much humidity at night. I hope you can help me before this problem becomes a big issue
what size cage does an adult bearded dragon need? what substrate should I use? is bioactivity possible with bearded dragons?
Hello. So right now for my baby crested gecko tank set up I have a 10 gallon with live plants and some wood. (First time reptile owner) I have had this problem before. There are these VERY small little silver bugs and they are in the dirt and also on the wood. I didn’t make this bio active. I don’t think they are on the plants but there is a lot. I am using the dirt bricks and last time this happened I cleaned out his tank but they are back. They are not on my crestie. Are these ok? Suggestions?
What is the best gecko or other small reptile for a beginning reptile keeper that is relatively cheap not counting snakes because my boyfriend won't let me have one. One of my local pet stores has tokay geckos and leopard geckos the other one has a couple more options within my price range but I am still asking for advice. I have a 20 gallon aquarium to keep it in at the moment but I can go larger as it grows if I need to
She shed this morning and she's eating Repashy as a main diet. 21°C and 65-85% (depending on time of the day) hydration. She "hugged" my finger with her tail and it felt as strong as usual. Last night I forgot to spray down her tank (45x45x60cm exo terra). She's eating as usual and moves around the tank as usual. Can I do anything to help her and identify the situation or should I take her to the vet?
I just purchased a created gecko that’s a little over a month old. I found his tail last night, and there’s a small crevice of his tank he won’t leave. I put down paper towels instead of the coconut substrate. I’ve read it’s best to keep them in a smaller tank while the wound heals, but it’s already stressed and not eating. Should I move it to a smaller habitat, or do you think the stress will be too much?
I have a 20 gallon tank for my bearded dragon and I just need to know how many watts of UVB do I need
Humidity in my hermit crab cage is too low, I cannot get a lid for it right now (too much money) is there anything at home I can use to cover it? (Plastic wrap with some air holes, anything)?
I bought a wounded baby gecko, I mean wounded because it's tail is gone. I'm not sure how old or what gender it is yet because of it missing its tail. My questions are I put a piece of clean dried drift wood & some dried out lemons & oranges in its aquarium is that ok or harmful? I also added moisture to its substrate & shallow dish of calcium powder & crickets sprinkled with it. Its tail don't seem to growing. Its only 3+half inches long, any suggestions would be great. Please & thank you
Fancy leopard geckos need light. If I keep the red light on 24/7 as directed by, what should the temperature be?
