Is it safe to use Dexamethasone for an 8 month old pup to misscarry a litter?
My dog is a 3 year Maltese with 11 lbs. He was wearing a Scalibur necklace for flees, and by that developed a red rash around the neck. We removed it yesterday, but today he is itching, breathing more heavily than normal, and squiling. We called a vet and she told us to give him dexamethasone. We have 0.5mg human dexamethasone. We gave him 1 pill 0,5mg 5 hours ago, and 2 more half an hour ago. Total 1.5mg. Is that enough? Should we give more? When will the effect take place? Thanks!
Dex and Benadryl were administered before Dhpp and bordetella, reasons I do not know why. My question is, will the Dexamethasone inhibit an immune response for the Dhpp and bordetella?
Can you give me some info on dexocycling 50mg for cats? I have a 11 mth that started last month with a 103 temp, 3rd eyelids exposed, had covenia shot, and week later steroid shot, nothing helped. Today had test, bloodwork fine, neg on felv and fiv. Lost half pound also. Since fuo Vet thinks toxoplasmosis and prescribed this. Since cant dry pill, would a syringe with water after pill work? Hes not into treats n not eating much. Can pill be crushed? Thank you.
How much dose should I give to my puppy of bendex 10 ml .
Is my dog is on deramaxx 100 mg is it okay to give her a small dose of Benadryl
My cat has a flea allergy and was given a steroid shot. I heard you can give cats benedryl. What would the dosage be for an adult cat that's 8 pounds.
My male cat has been prescribed antibotics and prednsione for broncitis. He is 16 lbs, is 5 mg of predisone a small dose? And giving this pill. 2 doses a day for 7 days then one doses a day for 7 days then one doses once every other day for 7 days a okay thing? Is this going to cause terrible side effects
Hi. First of all I want to thank you for replying my questions. My cat has CKD and swollen kidneys. My vet prescribed to give her Dexamethasone+Dimedrol+Vitamin C injections for 15 days. If one day I stop the injection she feels bad and stops eating, drinking. Water starts coming from her mouth. My question is will I have to keep her on this injection all life? And Can this medicine affect my cat badly if used for a longer period of time?
dexadreson - i would like to understand if this medicine is safe for a cat with grade 3 heart murmur / heart condition. It was given as an injection as a precaution to a cut so it wouldn't get infected. Is there a risk due to the heart condition? Thank you
The vet gave our dog 500ccs of fluid mixed with dextrose because she was so dehydrated. She did this subcutaneously. She is only 14.2 lbs. is this too much? She now has a fever and panting really hard, she is also in pain in which she wasn’t before. After the fluids she seemed much better, now it is way worse.
My cat was prescribed predinsolone liquid and I started her first dose tonight, it was hard to give her this by mouth with syringe and she started foaming at the mouth, not sure if she swallowed the liquid dose is this okay? Are there any tips you can give to make syringing by mouth better?
