Superb Cone of Shame

Terrific for comfortable long term use. My dog doesn’t try to shake it off. She sleeps comfortably and she can negotiate small spaces. Excellent product Stays on with nice loose regular collar

It's nice that it's flexible but it becomes very floppy. It collapses on the dogs head and folds closed when they lay down. I must be like being suffocated. It hangs on the dogs head ,in their face. Also the velcro is not very adjustable. If it doesn't fit your dog it can't be adjusted to fit different size dogs. It's very expensive too. I had no choice, i needed it right then. I would not recommend it!

Great option for large dog.

Bought an XL for my 90 pound lab and it fit well. After his initial confusion the first few minutes, when I put it on him a 2nd time, he actually calmed down and slept. It does tend to flop if you don't have the cone tight enough, but i was amazed that my dog tolerated it so well. He has a wound on his paw and this size keeps him from reaching. Much better option than traditional cone, where he bangs his head on everything. This cone also allows better vision than traditional cone.

Great cone

Great product. It’s the only cone that works for my dog. He is around 12lbs and the S fits perfectly. He is able to drink while wearing it, but also not able to lick his paws or touch his face. We are using it so he cannot rub his eye, which is healing after an injury. The length is great. I tried other cones and they are all too big length-wise and also thicker and heavier. This one is really lightweight and the Velcro makes it easy to take on and off. I would say it is best for a small dog. Just because the length is on the shorter side. Also, it’s not meant to be a chew toy. Anyone complaining about it not holding up to chewing is ridiculous. And puppies chew everything. It’s no fault of the cone, haha. Highly recommend.

I just got home with this, put it on my dog (6 month old lab pup), and it’s already been chewed on. What a waste of $40.

Works for my smart Australian Shepherd puppy

I have a 7 month old Australian shepherd and he just got fixed. Nothing worked for us. He’s so smart and can ruin anything. This actually was the one thing that he could tolerate and couldn’t remove. I am beyond happy and relieved. It’s hard to see your dog licking their incision knowing it could hurt them. I’m at peace now. Hope it holds up for at least 10 days until he is healed.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The faults outweigh the deception of comfort

This collar would've MAYBE been okay for a belly wound or a dog shorter from shoulders to hip. However, for a thigh wound, she easily put her foot inside the cone and got to it. After a few days, she bent the rim and easily hurt herself even more. I wanted something that didn't look unconformable for her and that was not too cumbersome. For that, it works. As for being able to see through, that was not exactly true as the see-through panels kept turning to line up perfectly as blinders. As an effective barrier to her lower half, absolutely no use. The e- collar from the vet is bulky, stiff, and doesn't look comfortable, but it is perfectly clear and actually works. Also, cheaper. Don't waste your money on anything else.

No, I do not recommend this product.

How should this be washed ? On gentle or normal will do? Also, does it keep its shape or becomes flimsy after wash?

Is the Zen collar bulky. I've tried several soft cones but too heavy, clunky.

    1. No it is really light. My dog could lay down comfortable in it and could even jump through the doggie door with it on. I bought the one from the vet (before buying this cone) and my dog was so freaked out by it and it was so heavy. I recommend this cone for your fur baby.

If my dog chews it up in the first day while wearing it can it be returned?

    1. If placed on dog properly it cannot be chewed on.

What is the measurement of the large from the inner edge that goes around the neck, to the outer edge?

Do you have to use this cone with a collar or can it be used without a collar?

      1. It can be used without a collar no problem. The collar will keep it from spinning around but it'll stay on just fine

I am thinking of using this to cut my cats nails so she does not bite me.  She is 5 lbs but cap pack a big bite since she has been older- 16 years now.  Will this work?

What is the measurement from the neck to the end of the cone for the XL

Does this collar prevent them from pawing at their eye? Ours just had an eye procedure and is miserable in the plastic cone.

          1. Just make sure you get right size. Meaning it's wide enough so that the fabric goes past his nose.

My dog -30 lbs- is licking her front paw.  will this cone work for her

I have 2 black labs age who just recently got neutured. They weigh approx. 56lbs.each. Will this help them stop licking their wounds and can they sleep with this on? I don't care for the plastic cones.

            1. Yes to all of the above. I would bet that you and your Labs will be much happier with the soft cones.
