Oko cat covers ammonia but that burnong wood smells is overwhelming to me so isnt to them....so I switch back to yesterdays new???? Any ideas

What are good brands or types of litter that I can use? I use arm and hammer slide and my cat loves it, but it was gone the last time so i got another brand and my cat scoots her but butt. I need a brand that is an alternative for times when my primary type of litter isn't in store.
I just adopted mittens from my local shelter on June 8. When I brought him home he was very scared. Now he has settled in our home. I found out that mittens doesnโt like scented litter and was refusing to use the litter box. So I bought him arm and hammer unscented litter. I put him in the litter box and he sniffed it and jumped out. What should I do now? He has been going potty in the shower, should I put the litter box in the shower?
